Take your dogs on holiday for free, all year round, at the award-winning, adult-only Woodland Springs Touring Park in Devon

altTake dog friendly holidays for less at Woodland Springs Touring Park in Devon

There's no limit to the number of dogs or the breed you're allowed to take on holiday here, for no extra nightly fee. It is a great offer from owners Chris and Jan Patrick who aim to make Woodland Springs Touring Park one of the most dog friendly campsites in the UK, and they're offering an acre of open land where you can exercise your dogs off the lead, as well as day kennels.  Other pets are welcome, too – please consult the campsite for details.

Woodland Springs Touring Park is exclusively for adults, is open all year round, and you'll find this pretty, four-acre site in the heart of the Dartmoor National Park, near Drewsteignton. It's in an idyllic rural location yet is not far from the A30, between Exeter and Okehampton.

Walkers, with or without dogs, will enjoy exploring the wilds of Dartmoor, including the Teign Valley and Fingle Bridge. You could leave your dog in the day kennel on the campsite site while you visit the National Trust's Castle Drogo, Finch Foundry, with its water-powered forge, and The Church House. Trout fishing in the river is available, and Spires Lakes offers carp fishing. Horse riding, golf, fishing and swimming can also be part of your holiday in the area.

With its centrally heated washroom, free hot showers, shaver points and free hair dryers, facilities at Woodland Springs Touring Park are excellent. There are disabled facilities, an indoor dishwashing room, laundry and 10 fully serviced pitches. You can choose from grass and hardstanding pitches.

Not surprisingly, the site has won many awards. For instance, it is one of Practical Caravan and Practical Motorhome magazines' 2014 Top 100 Sites, and it also won a Loo of the Year Platinum 2014 Award and has been given top ratings by the AA (AA 5 Pennant) and the Quality in Tourism scheme (4 Star).

On the site you'll find a little shop selling fresh bread and some groceries, as well as an off licence. Calor Gas and Camping Gaz are available here, too. To preserve the grass and natural beauty of the site, groundsheets aren't permitted in awnings.  You're asked to arrive between 1pm and 8pm, because there's no spare space for early or late arrivals. WiFi is available at £1 per hour or £5 per 24-hour day, £8 for 48 hours, £20 for a week.

There are plenty of good places to eat and drink on Dartmoor, and the nearest pubs are The Post Inn at Whiddon Down, the Fingle Bridge Inn at Fingle Bridge, the Sandy Park Inn near the River Teign at Sandy Park and The Drewe Arms in Drewsteignton.

Special offers are frequently available at Woodland Springs – check the campsite's website for details. Currently, you can stay for seven nights for the price of five.  Stays must be seven nights or more to qualify. Midweek special deals are also currently available. Arrive Monday and leave on the following Friday and only pay for three nights (in other words, you'll be getting four nights for the price of three).

So if you're searching for dog friendly accommodation for your holiday in Devon, just visit the  Woodland Springs Touring Park website to find out about the latest special offers, local attractions  and more.
