Welcome to the favourite lands of the Kings of France, lands of peace and harmony. Here everything is royal and fit for a king. The welcome, of course, but also the landscapes. They are sumptuous, crossed by the nonchalant, majestic Loire, a river that knows how to take its time. On its way to the ocean, it curves around cities, villages and châteaux. The Loire Valley has been listed by Unesco as a World Heritage since 2000. No other site in the world combines such a number of beautiful homes and such an immense variety of landscapes. 'La Vallée des Rois'
('the Valley of the Kings') comprises a beautifully preserved environment and an extraordinary architectural and cultural heritage.
The Castles : all must be visited : Chambord, the largest and most sumptuous; Chenonceau, Cheverny. The Mushroom beds ('Champignonnières'): a mysterious universe a centuries-old tradition.
Come and visit the Cheverny vineyard, situated only 10 km from the campsite. The Troglodytes dwellings : There are quite a few, mainly Trôo, the most beautiful troglodyte village built in the Middle-Ages. Parks and Gardens : 27 splendid parks and gardens cover the whole region. Gardens from the Middle-Ages or the Renaissance periods, rose gardens, vegetable
gardens with 600 varieties of tomatoes or enormous vegetables. Unusual plants and flowers , Italian-style gardens, a superb arboretum which received the protection of the “Monuments Historiques” (historical sites association) Trips on the Loire river: Aboard a 'Flûtreaux', a guide will familiarise you with the fauna and flora of this protected river.
