Four Star Review

Went here in July for the first time with my 8 mth old and 2 year old children. My Husband had to work and Mum was supposed to come with me...ended up just me and kids! The staff could not of been more helpful, they put me in a fantastic spot with other families. Everyone was very helpful. Used the family room for showers etc which was a massive help, just had to pay a small deposit. They are very clean and site is maintained to a high standard. The only thing I would suggest is that the play area has a range for toddlers such as a high back swing instead of the tyre swings they have at present! Younger children didn't have much to play on. Also my toaster broke so could not do toast for breakfast and through the week there was no where on site that opened early for breakfast, the cafe only served T Cakes!! Most families are up early. All in all a good site and would go back again.

We are a couple but usually tour with our handicapped adult son. ( HE LOVES PLASSEY !!!)A very attractive and well maintained site. Have been here many times and it will remain one of our firm favourites. The pitches are well laid out and generously sized. The facilities are first class and are kept spotless at all times. The staff are friendly and helpful. Late night noise is NOT tolerated so a good sleep is guaranteed. You'll need it too because there are loads of things to do/places to go/sights to see both ON the site and OFF it.
Thanks John and ALL your staff. See you again soon

Five Star Review

We are a family of 5 and with the 3 children aged between 9 and 15 it is difficult to find a campsite that suits us all, we have owned a caravan for 4 years and bought it with the intention of touring different sites, however after we went to the plassey on recommendation it has spoilt us, we try different sites but find ourselves back at the Plassey. The site is first class, the staff are really friendly and helpful and the scenery is really beautiful. The toilet and shower blocks are first class, and the on site shop is well stocked. It is like a mini village there, you do not need to leave the site, it is a lovely walk around the small shops and boutiques, while our children paint pottery and are well looked after. We have eaten in the restaurant which was first class and also in the golf club where everyone is very friendly. Our children love the fishing lakes on site and the amusements; they have made lots of friends and can’t wait to go back for a spot of golf. We spent bonfire weekend there in November last year and the firework display was fantastic we had a brilliant weekend. We have recommend this site to friends and they keep returning there as we do.

We spent a wonderful week at The Plassey in October. The facilities were second to none, and spotless. The staff responsible for the upkeep of the toilet/shower blocks deserve the utmost praise. We will definitely be back.

Practical Caravan Top 100 Parks Award 2008

Last year’s winner has put in another strong performance in our Top 100. The site was once a farm and the original Edwardian farm buildings have been converted into boutiques, shops selling handmade crafts, a café and a restaurant. The site also has its own real-ale brewery.
For a relaxing holiday, stay on site. You will be surrounded by 247 acres of park and woodland with panoramic views over the Dee Valley. Once you have explored the site’s shops and two miles of walking paths, have a leisurely stroll to the nearby pretty villages of Overton and Bangor-On-Dee.
For a more active holiday you can get involved in the on-site activities, which include an indoor heated pool, play area, golf course, badminton, table tennis, and fishing.
For a day out, the market town of Llangollen is just a short drive away. Here you will find Plas Newydd, the half-timbered house that was home to the Ladies of Llangollen; the Motor Museum and Canal Exhibition; and the impressive Royal International Pavilion where the International Eisteddfod is held every year. Erddig House and Chirk Castle are also close by.
The pitches at The Plassey
are all large, equipped with electric hook-up, and a number of water points are located throughout the pitches. Some fully serviced hardstanding pitches are also available.
There are several heated washblocks on the site. These all have provisions for babies and the disabled. The site has separate dishwashing facilities and a launderette, too.

UK Practical Caravan Top 100 Parks Awards 2007 OVERALL WINNER!

Located in the beautiful Dee Valley, with the picturesque villages of Overton and Bangor-on-Dee nearby, The Plassey Leisure Park is in a lovely spot. More akin to a small village than a caravan site, this former dairy farm has been transformed by current owner John Brookshaw into a wonderful location suitable for families and couples.
The site’s outbuildings have been converted into a magnificent restaurant, a coffee shop and a hair salon. The buildings also house a computer repair and advice depot, and a great collection of clothes and gift shops.
This site will suit outdoorsy types with its two miles of specially created footpaths that thread their way around 250 acres of farm and woodland. The onsite golf course and coarse fishing lakes will also appeal. And if you need to relax after a day outdoors make use of the luxury heated indoor swimming pool and sauna facilities.
The touring area does not disappoint either and has had a number of improvements over the years: more fully serviced pitches have been added for 2007, raised flower beds are also a new addition.
This site’s breathtaking location, top-notch facilities and well-kept pitches make it a worthy winner of the UK's top award!

Practical Caravans Top 100 Parks Awards 2006

Situated in the picturesque Dee Valley, the Plassey Leisure Park is a site with
a difference. It features a series of Edwardian farm buildings, converted to house superb facilities: handmade crafts and boutique shops, a brewery producing its own real ale,
a farmhouse ice-cream shop,
a garden centre and a beauty salon, set in gardens that benefit from sumptuous views.
Families with children will find that there is plenty to keep them occupied here. The indoor heated swimming pool is open from May to September, and other attractions include a games room, a sauna, golf, table-tennis, and two miles of lovely nature trails. For the less energetic there are also two clubhouses and
a licensed restaurant on-site.
Located within 250 acres of farmland, the pitches on this family-owned site are spacious, level and set around the perimeter of each field. Trees, shrubs and hedges are strategically placed around the site to offer a peaceful feel to the area.
There is a centrally heated amenity building with baby and disabled facilities, and individual washrooms, all of which are kept very clean. Two more amenity blocks and a shower block are located elsewhere, although the shower block could benefit from having its own washbasins.
And don’t imagine that there is any lack of activities away from the site. Local attractions range from castles at Chirk, Powys, Beaumaris and Caernarfon to steeplechases at Bangor-on-Dee and horse-drawn barge trips along the Llangollen canal. You can sample the delights of the nearby historic cities of Chester and Shrewsbury, too. For an
all-action break, Plassey Leisure Park is the perfect site.
