There is easy access to miles of open space, and many guests choose to take on some of the Highland trails that you can join from paths close to the site. The landscape near the coast is better described as hilly rather than mountainous, making the walking routes perfect for guests of all levels of fitness and stamina. Those looking for a bigger challenge can venture further inland to discover many of the higher peaks of the Highlands.

Unspoiled countryside and woodland is also found close to Applecross Campsite for guests looking to go walking completely on the flat, with many gentle walks available that offer stunning views of the area and out across the sea or towards Raasay and Skye. This wouldn’t be Scotland if there weren’t plenty of places to enjoy fishing and golf during your camping and caravanning holidays. Fishing can be enjoyed around the coast and out to sea – many local fishermen are happy to take tourists out with them – while there are two golf courses within an hour of the park.

The area is so quiet and remote that a longer drive is needed to discover other towns and villages in the region, however taking a scenic journey along the Highland roads is often a great experience in itself.

The site location is wonderful, at the end of the Bealach Na Ba and just outside of Applecross. The site itself is quiet and peaceful, there is lots of room to run around but when we visited it was a little on the wet side (almost boggy).

The big problem with the site is that it feels like it needs a little bit more love and attention.

The facilities were okay but they looked like they needed a good clean.

Very disappointing stay - we asked for our money back and left - both times we went to get food from the restaurant on site were just told they had finished serving - very noisy, overcrowded, limited facilities, dark toilets, waterlogged, basic, motorbikes revving their engines at all hours, not child friendly, it is an incredibly long drive, with stunning views, but this area is very remote and the staff will not make you feel at all welcome after your long drive when you are tired and hungry.

What a spectacular location. Amazing views. We stayed in the log wigwams which were cozy and great value. It is a quiet park with some good and bad points.

There is a comfortable and lovely cafe with a large covered flower tunnel. There is a childrens play area with good quality toys. It is a short 5-10min walk from the centre of applecross and the applecross inn which serves great food and has a fantastic atmosphere (be sure to book in advance).

Overall the site is quite small and so does not need many toilets and showers. These facilities were adequate but the floors were dirty and there was no loo roll for both the days we were there. Be sure to bring your own. The staff were always friendly and helpful.
