Cawood Holiday Park is a wonderful park found in 12 acres of the most beautiful Yorkshire countryside. The park was voted the Best Caravan Park of 2014 in the Visit York tourism awards.

Cawood Holiday Park is outside the small villages from which it takes its name, and is mid way between York and Selby. The park is open all throughout the year and is a family and pet friendly destination, with plenty on offer for anyone staying on site. There are 60 pitches for touring caravans and 9 for motorhomes, all hard standing ‘super pitches’ meaning guests can enjoy maximum comfort and convenience during their stay.

The park has everything on site that guests need to have a relaxing stay, including a café – Mrs B’s Lakeside Kitchen – and bar where there is live entertainment provided every weekend. There is also entertainment provided across the park during the day, from brass bands to puppet shows for children and many other fun and exciting events.

There is plenty to do during the day around Cawood Holiday Park, including a heated indoor swimming pool and a play area for children, as well as loads of open space for playing ball games or simply running around. For adults there is a private coarse fishing lake, which is perfect for a day’s relaxation without having to leave the site.

The location of Cawood Holiday Park means that a visit to the beautiful city of York is a ‘must’. York is famous for its Jorvik Museum, celebrating the town’s Viking past and York Minster, so this is a popular location for those looking to enjoy the history and heritage of the city.

There are also plenty of modern attractions such as McArthur Glen’s York Designer Outlet, heaven for anyone who likes shopping for designer fashion.

Guests looking for architecture and the city’s attractions steeped in the past are encouraged to take in York Minster and York Castle Museum, as well as walk the city walls and enjoy the open spaces around them. York is home to several other museums, including the National Railway Museum, and is a great place to discover more about the history of the whole of the UK as well as York and Yorkshire.

Those heading into York to experience the modern aspect of the city are spoiled for choice, with a huge array of shops in addition to bars and restaurants offering cuisine from around the world. York also has plenty of parks and open spaces to enjoy, with picturesque walks along the River Ouse a popular activity, too.

Staying at Cawood Holiday Park gives you numerous ways to actually get into York. You can hop on a bicycle and pick up the York to Selby cycle route close to the campsite. Alternatively you could drive to one of the numerous park and ride stations on the outskirts of the city. There is also a river bus, so you can turn the journey to York into a relaxing sightseeing trip, seeing the city from a unique perspective.
