Myself and my partner stayed at Parkdeans resort TY MAWR from 24th April - 27th April.

On the Friday evening my partner was violently attacked by thugs, (not staying on park)in the entertainment complex. He was bitten to the face, along with damage to his ribs and ankle. Whillst my partner was being checked out in the local hospital our tent and camping area was trashed.

I have made a formal complaint to the parks touring manager (Nikkie Lawrence) and Gereral Manager (Rachel Clarke). The park has come back refusing to accept any responsibility, even tho the attackers weren't staying on park and managed to get past 3 sets of security.

When on these 'family friendly' resorts, you have passes that you are to show security when entering the complexs.

My partner wouldn't have been assaulted, my holiday wouldn't have been ruinned and more importantly my children wouldnt have been petrified had this park ensured that passes had been checked and that there staff (security) had done there jobs correctly.

Also if this hadn't have happened my belongings, tent and camping area wouldnt have been trashed as we wouldnt have been in the hospital till 3am.

I would like to know if anyone has had a similar experience whillst staying at TY MAWR resort or if anyone stayed there during the same dates as myself and if they had there passes checked everytime they entered the complex.

As for the slogan creating amazing memories our experience has been far from it!!!!

I have been to this site on five occasions, mainly owing to my children's promptings.
Personally speaking, I find the idea of having my eardrums assaulted every night by the constant boomings of the club rather frightful, however, my son and daughter, aged four and eleven respectively, appear to enjoy the site, especially the swimming pool.
I do believe the site is attracting the 'chippy meal' families whose idea of entertainment appears t revolve around holding shouting contests between the vast rows of caravans on ofer, but then again, it's a family site, and this site just happens to be within easy reach of Liverpool and Manchester.
Do not visit this site if you enjoy the quiter sites, or, in fact, work in a library and not used to noise.

had a good time here until a family pitched right by us. at one point drove round the site very fast sliding the car on the grass were my kids had been playing. few minutes earlier my kids would have been dead. this really has put me off as it is upto the site to ensure this doesn't happen. would return if security was tighter.

hope this helps

To set the scene we are a couple in our 20s, enjoy a good night out and in no way a prude. HOWEVER
sent 2 nights at this site- facilities not good-portacabin- and cold showers, rough at night- youths hanging around- ive done self defence and kick boxing and lived in london and i still felt uneasy at night. tents crammed in and one large very noisey drunk grp of blokes. generator going (didnt think they were allowed) and kids running round at all time (i dont mind kids- well behaved) with parents that didnt give a help really. have written and complained to head office- i dont usually waste my precious time off doing that. am sure I just may have been unlucky but if i had children I wouldnt risk taking them there!

Got to agree with these last comments. I actually sold my static that was on here due to the increasing bad behaviour of kids and adults. I have 3 kids all between 3 and 10 and they were bullied by 3 youths ( 13 yrs old) who seemed to be under the influence of alcohol.
Security seemed unable to help my family in this situation. .
I am a scouser from Kirkby and do not accept this behaviour at home, never mind whilst on holiday.
This used to be a nice site but is falling onto harder times.

I couldn't agree more with publicimageltd2 . Just spent Easter weekend @ Ty Mawr. Booked it at the last minute before reading the reviews and so couldn't cancel without losing £100. On arrival we were told we were allocated a pitch on the Meadows but requested the Warren ( noticed the porta loo toilet block on the way in so wanted to give that field a wide berth ) . The Warren wasn't much better considering it was the first week of the season . The toilets were very old ( made out of wattle and daub by the look of the fittings) and disgusting with no heating and the showers were cold. There was no proper toilet and waste water disposal point - you need to be fit to lift the waste to empty it down a raised outdoor 'toilet'. There was a problem with the electric on the whole site as some statics were without electric , the pool was freezing and the clubs were cold. The entertainment in the clubs was dire with the resident band being out of tune and at one point started a song again because they were out of sync and the singer couldn't remember the words. There was an easter egg hunt on Sunday and during daylight we noticed the club was filthy with stains and rips on most of the seats and graffitti on some of the tables - CLASSY . The whole place looked like it hadn't seen paint since the 1980s and cleaning was a dirty word . AVOID THS SITE LIKE THE PLAGUE or make sure you're up to date with your jabs !!!

Absolutely appalling - AVOID
Full of CHAVS and Liverpudlians. We went Bank Holiday Saturday for a week, big mistake. The site is a disgrace. The showers were cold / freezing apart from one morning. The toilet floors were always wet ! ! ! and in a bad way ! ! !. The wash basins were good if you got to them early , if not they were left in a terrible state. The wheely rubbish bins were overflowing daily, only emptied once. The wash room for kitchen items was good, only three sinks but good. Some queing expected though. The childrens play area was nice but full of gangs of children. The pool was dirty as were the changing rooms. The shower at the pool was hot so most people went there to shower. The staff at reception were not helpful and the security staff didn't want to get involved in any issues. We didn't try the onsite club as the fighting outside put us off ! ! ! The major problem was the amount of gangs of children roaming the site at all hours. The noise and swearing was disgusting. If you do decide to go then dont forget to pack your RED or BLUE footy kits. I would recommend the site directly opposite this though, it had higher and better standards.

If you come to this site with a tourer or tent and are asked to go to the area called ‘the meadows’, TURN AROUND AND DRIVE AWAY!! UNLESS of course your idea of a great holiday is:-
Letting unruly kids run riot.
Having teenagers drunk and throwing up at any hour.
Putting up with loud music and foul language (from all ages).
Leaving dogs to their own devices.
Using the hedges and back of tents and vans as toilets.

The toilet/shower block is very poor being nothing more than glorified self contained porta loos, used as a playground for kids.

One drunken couple nearby had a full blown violent ‘domestic’ outside their tent at 2 am in the morning using anything that wasn’t pegged down as a missile! Very entertaining to watch but I thought my van was a gonner!!

I’m not prudish, I enjoy a drink and a good time on holiday as much as anyone, but this definitely wasn’t for us. We stuck it out for 2 nights then left.

There is a more roomy touring area at the opposite end of the park with much better facilites but staff seem very reluctant to let these plots out as they are amongst seasonal pitches.

This site has some unrivalled kids facilities and I’ve had some fantastic holidays with friends and family here in the past. Sadly returning here after a break of serveral years has shown that its certainly not the site it was – shame.

i have just returned from a weeks holiday with my children and a friend with her children.During our stay the children were constantly entertained in a safe environment, the facilities were excellent.the staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble especially for the entertainment team and bar staff. The site itself was very well kept and we shall definately be returning in the near future. We were supposed to be spending a week at the site, after a 3 hour search for a plot big enough for the caravan we complained to the office, were told to go on to a vacant static site, thought ok that is better, once on the static site the people in the next caravan complained because of the awning. The awning was broken into, the electric was tampered with, my husband was up most of the night because of the thieves. We ended up spending one night and coming home. The site staff did try to help by offering us another pitch but we did not feel safe. I am sure that if you enjoy the sight of drunk teenagers wandering about at 5.30 in the evening and getting your caravan broken into then you will enjoy this site.

I think this is a great camp for kids and adults. This is why i brought a caravan on there, because our family love the camp so much. I can make you great savings by letting you my caravan instead of you hiring from the camp. check out my website you wont be disappointed. Easter and most weeks still available! Holiday for family of 4 for 4 nights
4 yr old
10 week old
Me & Wife aged 33

The site:

Pros-Good security-excellent playground-large pitches

Friendly staff

Cons- Waitin a long time at reception on arrival with baby crying in car!

Despite cleners best efforts- Toilets at best smelled of strong cleaning fluids with mud trodden in from field-bit like music festivals..At worst-you can imagine! Showers are inside toilet cubicles!-would you fancy a shower after somebody else has been to the toilet? Glad we had a shower in Caravan.

Often had to wait for a toilet to become available-(people in showers)

views-lots of other tents and caravans

Towyn is great if you like litter, kebabs and general tackiness. If you have babies-you can`t get to the beach without crossing a steep stepped bridge going over the railway line but If you make it, you can watch your children enjoying themselves making sandcastles amongst fag-ends and coke cans!-joy!

my advice go to Conway or Llandudno!
or get a tracksuit and enjoy life in the amusements!
