Longnor wood is sited a mile and a quarter from the quaint village of Longnor. The village boasts a general store, delightful tearoom and a delicious fish and chip shop. The site itself caters for tents, caravans and mobile homes and also has a number of high quality holiday homes for hire. This is an adult only site which provides a very quiet and calm environment within which to truly relax. Set in a beautiful part of the Peak District Longnor Woods provides stunning views and an idilic walks. There are several feeding stations for you to
watch birds. A nine hole putting green, boules and
badminton for the energetic
are all included in the price. The proprietors provide a warm welcome and are very attentive to every need. The facilities are first class with lots of little touches which makes this site stand out - 5 stars.

26 May 2005: esorohan from Staffordshire reviewed Longnor Wood Caravan & Camping

This is a lovely park, 1000ft up and mostly surrounded by trees. The owners Lindsey and Paul keep the site immaculate. The pitches are good sizes and the site is cleverly laid out. On arrival Lindsey really made us feel welcome. The facilities are also very clean with good showers. There is a site shop, laundry with washer, tumbler, spin dryer and ironing facilities. Also a host of games including lawn darts. You need to be a keen walker or have transport as it is almost two miles to the nearest village - although saying that it is well situated for Ashbourne, Buxton and Leek. Give it a whirl if you like peace and quiet mixed with beautiful scenery. Review submitted by Eamonn Sorohan at http://wwww.sorohan.co.uk
