Riverside Caravan Park is a quiet and secluded holiday destination, a short distance from the A38 trunk road on the outskirts of Plymouth. The park is open all through the year, and welcomes guests with tents, touring caravans, motorhomes and campervans. Visit Devon and stay here, and you can also visit Cornwall, too.

A number of pitch options are available at Riverside Caravan Park, with non-electric camping pitches, grass touring pitches with electric hook-ups, hardstanding pitches with electric hook-ups, plus hardstanding ‘premier’ pitches that have water and drainage hook-ups, as well as electricity.

Facilities available at Riverside Caravan Park to ensure guests enjoy maximum comfort while staying at the site include refurbished toilet and shower blocks, a laundrette and a dishwashing room. Recycling points for numerous materials are also available across the park, while there is also a motorhome servicing point.

The reception area at Riverside Caravan Park doubles as a small shop, stocking camping accessories, including Calor Gas, as well as essential groceries, which is handy when you're self-catering.

In addition to the facilities on offer, there is plenty for guests to do at Riverside Caravan Park. The heated outdoor swimming pool and children’s pool are both open during the summer months and provide hours of fun for the whole family. There is also a children’s play area, as well as plenty of space for ball games. There's a games room on-site, too, ideal for when the weather is not so great.

Riverside Caravan Park also has a bar, restaurant and takeaway food option, meaning guests never have to leave the site for anything if they don’t wish to. This is also a dog-friendly campsite – owners are reminded to clean up after their pets and to keep them under control.

As the park's name suggests, it sits on the banks of the River Plym, offering plenty of walking opportunities for guests preferring to stay closer to the site, while there are numerous locations from where fishing can be enjoyed, too.

If you want to visit Plymouth, the city centre is just a quarter of an hour away by car. The children will love going to the National Marine Aquarium and Plymouth Cathedral is magnificent, too, while tourists over the age of 18 might well like to tour the Plymouth Gin Distillery. Or how about a ride on the steam Plym Valley Railway?

Other towns and cities nearby include Exeter (a 50-minute drive from this park), and gems of the English Riviera including Torquay, Brixham and Paignton, all of which are easily within an hour's drive of this campsite.

Another place that's great for children of all ages – and is just a 15-minute drive from this caravan park – is Dartmoor Zoological Park.

In fact, the wonderful and wild Dartmoor National Park as a whole is just waiting for you to explore it when you've pitched at Riverside Caravan Park. It's a great region if you love walking holidays – from gentle, family strolls to tough, long-distance trails, there is something for everyone. It's also fantastic for cycling, mountain biking and horse riding. You could also go canoeing, climbing, geocaching and letterboxing.

The South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is also nearby, as is the South Devon Heritage Coast. There are also some majestic buildings to discover, including Buckfast Abbey (a 25-minute drive from Riverside Caravan Park), the Tudor mansion Cotehele (also about half an hour from this campsite by car) and Castle Drogo (about an hour's drive away).

Enjoy your camping and caravan holidays in Devon when you pitch at Riverside Caravan Park, a short way outside Plymouth.

Very friendly and welcoming. The owner and his daughter always make you wanted and have time to talk to you.
The park is nice and central for most days out. It is only a short walk from park and ride.
They had a night for the local hospice and everyone was made welcome
