Five Star Review

There's not much to do in Muasdale on a Saturday night, or at any other time for that matter, and that is the simple beauty of caravanning in this part of the world. This well kept site, backs onto a beautiful white sand beach, with views over to Gigha, Islay and the Paps of Jura, and if the weather is right, stunning sunsets. If your idea of heaven is kicking back in tranquil peace and quiet surrounded by magnificent countryside and stunning wildlife, making your own entertainment round a beach campfire, this site is definitely for you.

The facilities, while basic, are both more than adequate and spotless, with unlimited hot water in the showers, a laundry, games room and well stocked information desk. Two minutes down the road there is a well stocked shop in the village, stocking all your basic food and drink needs, but alas no pub within walking distance. There are however, regular buses to Tarbert and Campbeltown, where there are plenty of pubs, as well as the other amenities you would expect from small towns.

The beach itself seems to be almost non-tidal, and the waters are surprisingly calm, due the shelter afforded by the islands opposite, which also provide an effective natural windbreak meaning your awning shouldn’t blow away. If the weather isn’t so good, there are still hours of entertainment looking out over the beach from the comfort of your caravan spotting the wildlife along the shore line.

While the site and the village may be quiet, there is plenty to do in the surrounding area, including ferries to the islands and their whiskies close by, as well as walks for walkers of all levels. Owners Adrian and Alison, are both friendly and approachable, and keep well stocked files of local attractions in the office should the tranquillity become too much for you.

Holidays were made for places like this. Stunning views over Gigha and spectacular sunsets. The beach is just in front of the touring park not at all tidal, plenty of birds and wildlife to watch (even better with a nice glass or two). Spotless toilets and showers, laundry and fridge/freezer facilities. Local shop stocks plenty of beers, wines etc both local and more well known. True it is quiet but that is the whole joy of the place, if you want bars, clubs etc (and want to pay for them) try Haven or Golden Balls. We will be back. The photos of Muasdale do tell the story.

What a lovely park, so friendly, we had a most enjoyable stay. The facilities are spotless and the beach is only a few steps from our touring caravan, the dogs loved the beach - wonderful !
What a wonderful location, just sit in your caravan and watch the sea roll in and out, watch the birds on the waters edge, even spotted a sea otter - all from your caravan!
It was great fun watching the seals playing on the reef nearby and later watching them swim byin the evening - we shall definately come again. The sunsets were fabulous, took 73 shots on my digital camera !
All the very best to Alison & Adrian who work so hard to keep the park spotless throughout - including the Static Caravans (we had a quick peek)

The 10 pitch touring field immediately over the road is right next to a white sandy beach and turquoise sea, with lovely sea views (weather permitting) across to the islands of Cara, Gigha and Islay, with the Paps of Jura visible on clear days. All sorts of wildlife can be spotted with patience, including seals, and Alison & Adrian are happy to share her knowledge of the flora and fauna of the area.

Just to thank you again for the pitch you gave us over the weekend. It is always sad to come home but it was more so from there as it was perfect. Even the weather was good. Once again thank you and we look forward to seeing you next year. Best Wishes
