Camp, glamp or stay in a luxury hot tub lodge on this award-winning holiday park in East Sussex. The pet and family-friendly Chestnut Meadow Camping & Caravan Park is minutes from the coast, surrounded by idyllic English country landscapes and near many ancient towns and seaside resorts.

The park lies next to the seaside town of Bexhill. This is the heart of ‘1066 Country’, an informal area steeped in history and home to many ancient towns and magnificent castles. Overlapping much of 1066 Country is the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, which is characterised by wooded hills, sandstone outcrops and picture-postcard villages. To the west lie the chalk hills and mighty white cliffs of the South Downs National Park. Glyne Gap is the closest of many local beaches.

If urban exploration takes your fancy, a choice of seaside towns lie within easy traveling distance. Bexhill, with its beach, promenade, galleries, vintage shops, pubs and restaurants is just down the road. Hastings is only a few minutes further and highlights here include the clifftop ruins of a large medieval castle and a quirky old-town. Along the coast, the elegant Victorian resort town of Eastbourne is home to theatres, a Napoleonic era fort and a traditional pier. Travel a little further to reach the cobbled streets and old smuggler’s inns of Rye.

Onsite you can enjoy drinks and freshly cooked meals either in the café or delivered to your pitch or accommodation. To keep kids entertained there’s a play park and a games hall with pool tables, football tables and table tennis. Essentials are available at the shop in reception.

Chestnut Meadow offers three types of pitch: hard standing super pitches with electricity, water and drainage hook-ups, hard standing pitches with electric hook-ups, and grass pitches, almost all of which have electric hook-up points. The park also lets 2-person glamping pods, a 2-bed, 4-person wood cabin, and 3-bed 6-person luxury hot tub lodges.

What a lovely site. Very helpful staff. Excellent, clean facilities. Cafe provides great food. My children loved the play hall and play areas. Even though it was a very busy weekend, the toilets and shower rooms were kept very clean. Will definately return soon.
