Stayed at amroth bay holidays park for one week with my family, cost £500, basic caravan, advertised as with a washing machine which it didn't have, had an onsite laundrette which was flooded at the time we visited it, one shop onsite selling wool, and woollen jumpers????, our toilet in our van kept sticking open allowing the water not to refill unless you reflushed it, the hot water in the shower was cutting in and out at its own pleasure, the house keeping lady was very pleasant when we arrived and checked us in, she was very informative about the site and local shops and beach, the wifi on site has to be purchased separately to allow access, it's awful, if you can manage to even detect it with your phone or tablet it keeps kicking you off, so you end up having to keep re logging back in with your user name and password 20-30 times a day!!, my 11 year old was verbally abused by a another customers children at the play area, our double bedroom smelt musty, half way through the week a woman came knocking our caravan door, she began laying into me about my kids attending the pool area without my supervision, fair enough if we'd done wrong, both my girls are very competent swimmers, but commenting on someone's parenting skills the way she did is utterly diabolical, she was implying I was neglecting them and I was spoken to like rubbish and I was made to feel belittled, she didn't even introduce her self as the owner of the site, she has no idea of how to speak or treat her paying customers, she absolutely ruined our week there, my daughter also witnessed her saying to an 8 year old who was using the play area that if she was to break the swing she was using "she" would have to pay for it ??? hence I believe there is no trip adviser listing for this place because of her and all the negative comments she would generate, their Brochure states about how they "the owners" work 8 months of the year including giving up "their" weekends to run their site and they are only available during certain hours to sort out your problems , if they don't like it why do it?, get yourselves a 9-5, and well, why would they think their customers would want to even hear this nonsense, it's there own business why would you put this in your brochure????, not once did anybody ask us if everything was ok, not even when we left, I should have guessed why only 2 weeks away from summer holidays they still had availability, a lesson learnt, overall would not recommend, avoid avoid avoid .

Property manager response (27 Aug 2015)

On the rare occasion we receive a genuinely serious complaint, we are sympathetic and eager to put matters right, but we have no sympathy for any adult who puts their own pleasure before the safety of the children in their care. Mr Richmond flouted pool safety rules and thereby put his children at risk. We politely pointed this out to Mr Richmond and in return he has left a scathing and bitchy review full of falsehoods and exagerations on several internet sites! Every summer children die from swimming pool accidents but it has never happened on our park. If the price of us caring for children’s safety is the occasional preposterous review then so be it! - washing machines in holiday caravans - don’t make us laugh! Sorry Mr Richmond but this review 'doesn't hold water.'
