For holidays in north Wales, Emral Gardens is a small and secluded adults-only touring caravan park with seasonal pitches partially surrounded by mature woodland.

This is a quiet, dog-friendly campsite with just 20 hardstanding pitches located in the grounds of the Emral estate. Although the original house no longer stands, the woodland is still perfect for walks.

Emral Gardens features in the Top 100 Sites Guide 2020, complied by Caravan Sitefinder in association with Practical Motorhome and Practical Caravan magazines.

At this caravan park in Wales, all the pitches have 16-amp electric hook-ups and fresh drinking water hook-ups, as well as grey wastewater disposal, digital television outlets and Wi-Fi access. A new wash block has been installed close to the pitches and has underfloor heating for the two toilets and two showers, and a chemical disposal point. There is also a new laundry and washing-up facility on site.

Dogs are permitted at Emral Gardens, provided they are well behaved, their owners clean up after them and the dogs remain on their leads when in the main camping area. There is an adjoining fenced area on site that allows dog owners to exercise their four-legged friends off the lead.

The campsite also has a secure caravan storage facility. The storage area is a walled garden that has been granted a bronze award from the Caravan Storage Site Owners' Association for its security provisions.

If you're thinking of a seasonal pitch at Emral Gardens Touring Caravan Park in Wales, you'll be able to enjoy walks in the surrounding woodland, which are home to many different species of wildlife. In this area you might happen across one of the graves for the many dogs that were originally kennelled at the Emral estate.

Guests of the campsite are also welcome to fish in the Emral Brook, not far from the park. Those wishing to go further afield may wish to look into fishing on the River Dee at Bangor-on-Dee, which is two miles away.

There are a variety of attractions near this campsite. Aside from the beautiful Welsh scenery and the town of Wrexham, there are shops and a pub in the village of Bangor-on-Dee, or historical sites at Chirk Castle, Erddig Hall and Powis Castle. An excursion popular with guests is the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, also known as the stream in the sky, which can be crossed on foot or by boat.

Those seeking a more thrilling experience need look no further than Llangollen White Water Rafting to get the blood pumping. Thrill-seekers should also visit Zip World in Snowdonia to experience the longest zip wire in Europe!

People who stayed at Emral Gardens on their holidays in Wales praised the abundance of wildlife on-site and the conservation efforts of the park, which have earned it the David Bellamy Gold Award. They also observed the peace and quiet of the area which made for an especially relaxing getaway.

Beautiful site but an absolute nightmare of an approach road. Potholed dirt track is being kind. The site itself is well maintained with good layout and quiet (apart from wildlife). 2 toilets, 2 showers, not gendered, basic but clean.

Property manager response (02 Jul 2014)

So sorry about the drive. It is well maintained but when we get wet weather I am afraid our farm business and mares and foals need attending. They don't like the wet weather either. As for the noisy wildlife…sorry again but that is the rural countryside for you!

A first class site for adults only.It has a relaxing atmosphere well away from traffic noise.A new shower and toilet block are kept in good order. The pitches are all fully serviced and level. You can enjoy a pleasant stroll through the woods and beyond or just chill out by the lily pond. The site owners are pleasant and very helpful. All in all a quality site well worth a visit. We will be returning soon.
