Dolbryn Touring Caravan Camping Site is situated in the peaceful surroundings of the Welsh countryside. Dolbryn is open from March to October and welcomes motorhomes, campers, and travellers who wish to pitch their own tents.

The site itself is set in a peaceful valley that enjoys a stream, a range of mature trees, and an abundance of wildlife that will surely appeal to anyone who has fallen in love with the great outdoors. Wild flowers, fruits, birds, and much more can be found in the sprawling hedgerows and trees than make up the majority of this site. Such amazing natural landscape means that Dolbryn is perfect for a relaxing stroll – just ensure you have your camera with you to take in some of the majesty and capture it forever.

The site houses two fields that both offer pitches with electric hook-ups. The first site, ‘Lakes,’ is the more peaceful of the two fields and is usually offered to couples or families with older children, or groups of adults. The second, ‘Pines,’ is more open and overlooks a wooden play area, perfect for younger families who want to allow their children to let off some steam at the wooded play area while they can safely watch.

Those staying in tents and don’t wish to take advantage of electric hook ups can stay on a third field, which perhaps offers the best views, especially at sunset. Pitches on this final field are not marked, so travellers can pick their spot and enjoy.

Alternatively, if you are looking to embrace the new ‘glamping’ trend, there is a brilliant camping pod situated in the corner of the ‘Pines’ area, which is nicely secluded and ideal for a relaxing break, whether travelling on your own, in a couple, or with children.

There is an on-site bar which is family friendly and open every evening during the high-season, as well as weekends at the quieter times of year.

Dolbryn is set in beautiful countryside just outside Newcastle Emlyn, the site consists of three fields two with electric hook ups.The Pines field is flat and especially suited for tents while the Lakes is slightly sloping. The toilets and showers are spotlessly clean and showers are free, there are also facilities that are disabled friendly. There are no extra charges for awnings and children are welcomed rather than tolerated as are well behaved dogs which have lots of space to exercise. There is a play park for kiddies next to the Pines field and a small fishing pond by the Lakes. In the evening there is a small cosy bar in an old barn with a log stove for chilly evenings. The owners Bev&Dave Spencer are so friendly and welcoming you feel almost part of the family. We can't recommend this site enough! The owners have continued to improve the facilities without spoiling the charm of the site. This is a site that caters for young and old alike and where kids can be kids away from the tele and play station.

In all the years that Me, Sue and the kids have been caravanning, the best site by far that we have been to has to be Dolbryn. We have visited nearly every year for the past few years and we all look forward to going back year after year. Bev and Dave have always given us the warmest of welcomes and nothing is to much trouble for them, they work tirelessly to make sure that everyone is enjoying themselves. The best thing about Dolbryn is how it can cater for all sorts of caravanners and campers, immaterial of whether you have children, need piece and quiet, want to spend time with friends. Dolbryn has 2 fields, the field which is nearer to the beautiful lake that is full of fish with little fishing stations all around it so that you can spend hours fishing. This is the quieter field where the pitches are very spacious, and caters for those who want a quieter break. In the other field, which also has very large pitches, this very much caters for families and children. There is a play area that would put a lot of commercial sites to shame. The site is very safe for children as there is very little traffic moving around the site, no matter where you are pitched in this field, you can keep an eye on your little ones. Every morning, you will find Bev or Dave out feeding the ducks, rabbits and chickens, all the children on the site are out of their caravans and tents like a shot as they are all welcome to give Bev and Dave a hand to feed all the animals. It is very much a "hands on" way of doing things and the kids absolutely love it. Bev is always setting up activities for the kids to take part in, from "sticky time" where the parents can enjoy a cup of coffee at the same time to painting stones.

There are little walks around the lake and alongside the little streams that are near the lake. There is also an area where you can go for a game of football, there is also a field where i have made it a yearly ritual to bring along my kite to fly it (when there is wind!!!)

Dolbryn is also excellent for older children, teenagers etc as Bev and Dave have thought of everything, down near the Bar, there is a teenage/kids room with a pool table and games where they can hangout, and for a touch of genious on Dave's part, there is cctv in there with a monitor in the Bar where you can check that they are ok.

The Bar which is very cosy, rustic and homely is fantastic, selling traditional beer, soft drinks, snacks etc at the most reasonable prices you will ever come across in a campsite. It is very welcoming for families and children are welcome, Bev and Dave also do quiz nights and Bingo to name but a few activities. The shower and toilet facilities are excellent, there is always hot water, they are exceptionally clean and it feels just like your shower at home.

I suppose this sums Dolbryn up, it is very cosy and homely. Bev and Dave treat you like you are guests in their own home, you cant help but fall in love with Dolbryn and all it has to offer. My children always come home very happily tired as there is so much for them to do, it is a great place to escape to and when you have visited once, you will always want to return.

There is also a lot to do around the area, the nearest town is Newcastle Emylyn, which is about 1.5 miles from Dolbryn, there is a supermarket, excellent pubs and shops that cater for everyone. There are little coves, beaches and villages dotted all around the area, and you can easily spend a week or so at Dolbryn and still not see everything that this part of the world has to offer, if you visit Dolbryn, be sure to visit Mwnt Beach to see the Dolphins and Cenarth Falls which is just a few miles up the road. And at the end of the day, when the kids are saying "when we are we going home" and you know they mean Dolbryn, you know that what Bev and Dave have made at Dolbryn is very special indeed. This is for you Bev!
Fantastic Site for families, dogs and friendly people who like nature, peace and space!

Very central to West Wales.

Clean, new facilities. Quiet, rustic, converted barn (BAR) with books, games, colouring pens etc for kids for evenings at holiday times and weekends.

There is a large fenced-off pond so you must beware of this.
But this is really the loveliest, friendliest site we have been to as a family in the 8 years we have been camping.
Best Kept Secret in Wales!!

Well Done Dave and Bev

Wonderful place to go if you want to relax and wind down from your hectic lifestyle We have just returned from there after our 2nd visit.Bev and Dave ( owners) treat you as part of family. The toilets and showers are superb and now Dave has now built a laundry room with 2 washing machines a dryer and a spinner. They are improving the site all the time but do not let that put you off. There is fishing on site Bev runs things for the kids to do and there is a big play area away from caravans Dogs welcome and a big area to exercise them .
They have made the barn into a bar basic but cosy where you can meet and chat.
Beware there are some sleep gradients on the road leading to site but they soon forgotten about once pitched
