This campsite is a big no no, I agree with many other people that this camp site is an absolute dump to say the least, the staff are rude and very unprofessional, they did not help us one bit, the noise is horrendous and our daughter(7) was physically attacked here, the place is filthy especially the toilets which were at one point overflowing, we left early to a nice friendly site down the road, honestly do not even bother with this place, it needs either closing down or an overhaul, as our children had a terrible experience and cried the whole time!!!

We have just returned from this park, and will not be rushing to get back. There aren't any footpaths to any of the caravans, static or tourer, and with the weather we have just had, the whole site was a swamp. The smaller of the shower blocks was, freezing, dirty and certainly wasn't cleaned in the 4 days we spent there. If you do go to Thornwick, make sure you shower with flip flops on, as the floor was not mopped once. There were cobwebs on the windows , grime and dust on the hinges in the toilets. Most of the staff and the wardens were helpful, but there were some that were surly especially in the shop, "a thank you or a good morning would have been nice." As with the other reviews, it is like a little community, but you do need to be going there a while before you feel a part of it. We did try to talk to people, as normally caravanners are friendly people, but all they do on this site, is sit in their own little groups. We also found that the reception staff were not as helpful as they are on other sites. This site would benefit from a major update to bring it into the 21st century. I will give this site 1 star, but only because the price of beer was cheap.

I have been an owner since 1992 and have met some very nice people and made lots of friends. This is a friendly site and although it caters for all ages it is not too commercialized. You get the best of both worlds. There are 3 different club houses under one roof, the family room with entertainment, the middle room for adults with TV; and dart boards and opportunity to chat. Then there is the Cobbles bar for adults at the weekend you have different acts Fri; and Sat; and there is bingo and space to dance. Over the year raffles are run in this room and people donate prizes. The proceeds go to charities of the users choice. Last year it was air ambulance and Lifeboats There is also books and jigsaws for sale at 50p each this boosts the proceeds. My daughter and her family own a caravan on this site her children are never board the older ones play football go on the beach and the younger ones go on the swings in the park or go swimming. Our eldest daughter has a touring caravan and visits the site from time to time. She loves the site only she was disappointed with the shower block being a member of the caravan club she felt these did not meet the standard she is used to. However they are clean and have hot running water and this negativity was outwayed by the good points of the site. The site opens on the 1st of March and my friends and I will be there that day getting ready for our first night out of the season in Cobbles Bar. The Wardens Mary and Steve will help and advise anyone who needs it and the security team do an excellent job. See you all soon Margo

Just has 3 fantastic years on Greenacres.
Maggie and Tom the wardens are great, nothing is too much trouble.
If you want peace and quiet this is for you.
The people are so friendly it is like a small community.
We only left because we moved house.
Hope to return in the future!

quite a good site , decent pubs but can someone tell me why they close the bars at 11pm on this holiday site , big let down .

response (13 Dec 2005)

Our bars close at 11pm because Thornwick is a family site and many of our owners or renting customers may be in bed at that time in the evening. There are night clubs in Bridlington should you wish you stay out longer.
