Penhale Caravan & Camping Park is a four-star family holiday destination found on the south Cornwall coast.

The site is open from the start of April through to the end of October every year, and has a selection of well-equipped holiday homes for hire as well as welcoming guests with touring caravans, motorhomes and tents onto the park. The site is set within the Menabilly Estate, which in turn sits within a wonderful Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

All of the holiday homes at Penhale Caravan & Camping Park can be rented out on a self catering basis, although with the exception of towels everything guests need is provided, including unlimited gas and electricity at no additional cost.

Guests staying here in tents, caravans and motorhomes will enjoy the camping field at the site, which is constantly undergoing improvements to ensure more pitches are level and serviced with electric hook-ups. Most pitches now fit these criteria and some have been converted to hardstanding. All of the pitches have their own water hook-up, too, while pitches of varying size are available depending on whether guests want something small and cosy or a larger pitch for an awning. Those looking to enjoy a ‘back to basics’ camping experience close to the Cornwall coast can take advantage of the site’s camping area, a field with ample space for guests to choose where they’d like to pitch and no electric or water hook-ups.

Facilities provided at Penhale Caravan & Camping Park include toilet and shower blocks, which are fitted with hairdryer and shaver points, a dishwashing area, a laundry room and a chemical waste disposal point. Guests can also stock up on basic provisions from the park’s reception, which also offers Calor Gas and Camping Gaz exchanges for those requiring them. A selection of products from Penhale Farm is also available.

Although this campsite is quiet with no bar or entertainment, there is a small games room to keep families entertained throughout the day if they’re planning to stay on-site, so there's something to do, whatever the weather. This is a very family friendly campsite. The campsite's owners also welcome dogs, so long as their owners control them and clean up after them.

If you're looking to visit Cornwall on your motorhome, camping and caravan holidays, the location of Penhale Caravan & Camping Park is ideal. The nearest beach is less than two miles away in the small village of Polkerris, and is a well-sheltered cove.

The small port town of Fowey is also nearby and about a five-minute drive from this campsite. You could take a tour of the English Heritage owned St Catherine's Castle on the outskirts of the town, or enjoy a meal out at one of the many cafes, pubs, bars or restaurants found here. With a post office, a bank and other shops, it's also useful to be staying close to Fowey if you're self catering like you will be at this campsite, so you can top up your holiday supplies.

As Penhale Caravan & Camping Park is also just a 20-minute drive from St Austell, around three quarters of an hour by car from both Padstow and Newquay, and about an hour's drive from Plymouth, it is very well placed for the many wonderful things to do in Cornwall on your camping, motorhome and caravan holidays.

You can walk to Polkerris from the camp site across the fields and at Polkerris there is a pub right on the beach.

Situated on the south coast and fairly central for touring all of Cornwall, Penhale is set amongst farmland with splendid views across St Austell Bay. It is just over one mile from the centre of the quaint fishing village of Fowey, and a short drive to Par.
