Have been going back to Carnon Downs several times a year for years. It's a great site: clean, well laid out, excellent, modern facilities, and wonderfully friendly and knowledgeable staff. There's a choice of pitches, but lots of hardstandings and fully serviced pitches. The park is carefully landscaped and well tended to allow a relaxing, peaceful stay. It's superbly located for exploring all around Cornwall. Would strongly recommend this site.
: October in 2010This was the first site we ever visited and still one of the best. It is now a Managed site under the C.C. umbrella. What we particularly like about the site is it's central position and both north and south coasts are within easy reach. The one shower block is the best I've ever seen (not visited the other) and the super pitches are great and spacious.
The dog walks can be a bit muddy and there is slight traffic noise from the busy A39 due to traffic changing gear for the roundabout, this is the only bad points but inside the caravan traffic cannot be heard. Would I go again, yes, I've been twice.

Carnon Downs is a large, spacious site near the city of Truro. It is just off the main road, but is sheltered from traffic noise.
The entrance is unmissable and, once inside, you’ll see nothing but landscaped gardens and trees; visitors’ caravans are all partly hidden by shrubs. Some new hardstandings have been built, and the whole park is level.
A brand new sanitary building has been built in the middle of the park, with two others elsewhere. The new building is unisex, having 12 shower rooms each with its own toilet and handbasin. The other buildings have their own laundry facilities, toilets and dishwashing facilities, in addition to showers. The whole lot is kept in immaculate condition.
The spacious site gives an air of peace and quiet, but within minutes you can be enjoying the bustling atmosphere of Truro, or you can visit the National Maritime Museum in Falmouth. You might also want to find time to dip into any of the pretty little villages and marinas such as Mylor or Flushing and relax with a cream tea.
This is a great site for those wishing for peace and quiet, or for families seeking a bit of adventure and local interest nearby.

Carnon Downs is a large, spacious site near the city of Truro. It is just off the main road, yet set back far enough to remain quiet and without traffic noise. The entrance to the site is unmissable. Once inside, you’ll see nothing but landscaped gardens, trees and caravans partly hidden by shrubs.
Several new hardstandings have been built (there are already 60 hardstandings out of the 140 pitches). The whole park is level, and every pitch is supplied with 16A electricity. A brand new sanitary block has been built in the middle of the park, with two other blocks elsewhere. The new block is unisex, having 12 shower rooms each with its own toilet and handbasin. The other blocks have laundry facilities, toilets and dishwashing facilities, and one has even more showers. The whole lot is kept in immaculate condition.
The site gives an air of peace and quiet and spaciousness, yet within minutes you can be enjoying the city atmosphere of Truro. This is bustling place, complete with docks and the National Maritime Museum in Falmouth. Or you can dip into pretty little villages and marinas such as Mylor or Flushing and relax with a cream tea.
This is a great site for those wishing peace and quiet, or for families seeking a bit of adventure and local interest nearby. A shop would be a good addition, though.

Carnon Downs Caravan Park, which is situated just outside Truro, is a well-equipped site within easy reach of west and south Cornwall. It is a great spot for launching expeditions into the most westerly points of the UK.
There is also plenty to do if you want spend some time on-site. The adventure playground and football area will keep the kids amused, and there is also a TV room where everybody can unwind. There is a dog-walking area to stretch your best friend’s legs, or you can take a walk in the surrounding area.
Carnon Downs has 110 pitches in total, 20 with hardstanding, and 100 that offer 10A or 15A electricity hook-up. Twelve fully-serviced pitches provide water and drainage facilities. Two heated toilet blocks on the site provide washbasins in cubicles and plenty of showers. One block also houses family washrooms. These are convenient for mother and baby, with two baby sinks and a full-size bath, and are also suitable for disabled visitors. A mobile shop provides all the basics, and Carnon Downs also offers a newspaper service. There is a laundry on-site, and also a gas exchange.
The leisure facilities, include riding or bike hire, are nearby. Just 100 yards from the park is a Brewsters pub. There is also golfing and fishing in the area.
