Rawcliffe Manor Caravan Park

An adults only campsite in North Yorkshire, Rawcliffe Manor Caravan Park is a small and quiet site that is open throughout the year. It has a four-pennant rating from the AA.

This lovely campsite is tucked behind the Lysander Arms, a pub where you can enjoy meals out and drinks throughout your stay. At this campsite you will find 13 pitches, all of them ‘super pitches’ welcoming touring caravans and motorhomes, meaning guests will enjoy the maximum level of comfort and convenience during their stay. Other on-site facilities include chemical waste disposal points at every pitch, as well as washing up, laundry, toilet and shower facilities. The amenities block is central and very well maintained. There is also a nearby shop where you can stock up on groceries and your holiday essentials. Not only that, there's a bar, a café and a restaurant on site, so you can take a night off from cooking without needing to leave the park.

Rawcliffe Manor Caravan Park sits on the outskirts of York, just three miles from the city centre. It is also conveniently placed close to a park and ride, so you can leave your car or campervan/motorhome on site and head into this historic, walled city without it, without any fuss or bother.

There's tonnes to do on your motorhome and caravan holidays in North Yorkshire. With York on your doorstep, and so much here to explore, you will never be short of things to do. York Castle Museum, the York Minster, the Jorvik Viking Centre and the National Railway Museum are just some of the attractions in this city – as well as lots of cafes, restaurants, bars and pubs to keep you going. Be fascinated by a trip to the York Cold War Bunker or wander round St. Mary's Abbey. Or just enjoy a gentle amble in The Shambles. A little way outside the city is York Maze and also the Yorkshire Air Museum.

Leeds and Harrogate are both around a 45-minute drive from this campsite. And if you'd like a day at the beach, that's possible too – the coastal town of Bridlington is about an 80-minute drive away.

You can also discover the great outdoors when pitched at Rawcliffe Manor Caravan Park. The campsite is near York's ringroad, just off the A1237, near its junction with the A19. This makes the campsite easy to find and it means it is also very easy to get out and explore the local area – which is good news as there is so much to see. Lower Derwent Valley National Nature Reserve is south of the city, while the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is just over an hour's drive away to the north west, the Yorkshire Dales National Park just beyond it. To the north/north east you can discover the Howardian Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, beyond that the beguiling North York Moors National Park. Whether on two feet, two wheels or on horseback, there is so much to see, trails criss-crossing these areas so you can visit them solo or on an accompanied tour.

York with all its tourist attractions including the Minster and Jorvik Centre are only three miles away and are within walking distance. There is a regular bus service to York a short distance from the site entrance. The Yorkshire Moors, Dales and the seaside are within easy travelling distance. The park itself is on the Clifton ex RAF bomber airfield.

A park and ride scheme operates from Shipton Road, the road you come in from. Buses run every 10 minutes travelling into the City by the Railway Museum and back again. Current information on prices can be found in reception.
