Owner's description
Kippford Holiday Park is open throughout the year, and offers a range of accommodation options, from touring pitches suitable for motorhomes and tents, to holiday homes and chalets to rent. There is also a number of privately owned holiday homes situated at this family friendly site, which is one of the most popular caravan parks in Scotland. All of the pitches benefit from screening to ensure a degree of privacy, while some of the more luxurious chalet options enjoy their own private hot tubs and large veranda areas.
A children’s play area and assault course in addition to further wide-open spaces for exploring mean that youngsters will never get bored, while Kippford also accepts pets on site. A well-stocked shop means that you never have to leave, if you don’t want to, and can enjoy the surroundings that Kippford Holiday Park gives you.
That said, the site is situated a mere 15 minute walk from the village of the same name, which itself is filled with great activities and amenities that will appeal to the whole family. There are two family friendly public houses, both of which serve a range of local ales as well as offer a traditional and great tasting menu. Pottery classes are open to everyone, while an arts and gift shop means you can always take memories of your stay with you when you return home. Also, a small beach offers amazing views, while those wanting to take to the sea can often head out with an experienced crew on a yacht or more basic sailing boat.
There is a number of small villages nearby, and great transport links mean that much of Dumfries and Galloway is within easy reach should you be looking to explore these areas. Fishing, golf, and a number of archaeological sites are all within a short drive of Kippford, which doubles as a great holiday location as well as a base for exploring much of south eastern Scotland.

stayed for 1 night as we were heading for the ferry home next day. The park is charming and full of character. We were in a motorhome and the pitch was quite small but as it was quiet we got parked ok but could be tricky enough when busy as there wasn't much room to manoeuvre. The pitch was private with whin bushes providing both shelter and privacy. The wildlife seems well established with rabbits, birds, red squirrels and during our walk in the woods we heard woodpeckers. The toilet block was quaint and clean. The village is 10mins. walk and is pretty with hotel, pub and shop. Everyone we met was friendly and welcoming. Would definitely stay again. A lot of thought has gone into making this a truly beautiful park.
: April in 2012My wife and I are fairly new to caravaning having only got our caravan last year. We have attended a few sites and we both agree that Kippford Holiday park is the best by far we have been to. The showers are superb, the pitches are excellent and there is a well stocked shop on site. The park staff were very friendly and accomodating. The surrounding area allows plenty of variety for days out. We will certainly be going back again
