Our problems started at 4.00pm 2/9/2016 there was a delay at getting caravan key. once we got our keys, we
went straight to the caravan hoping to start a relaxing weekend with out two children.
As you can see from the attached photos, this caravan was not fit for purpose. The microwave has burning around the door
the light fitting in one of the children's bedroom had no cover, the shower door would only open about 20", The carpets
had not been cleaned very well, And the boiler had not been serviced and looked rusty and black smoke coming out of the
pilot light area. We went back to reception to complain and was offered another caravan which was not fit for us as we need
parking outside the caravan and was very small. So the 3rd time we complained and Claire at the desk said she would upgrade
us to Gold. Whist i was there i asked if parking was ok. I was told it would be ok as i have and electric car that need to be charged.
It was now about 5.15 and once we got there all seemed ok. The next morning 3/09/2016 at 5.30 in the morning there must be
a field where they do hunting as there was several shots over the space of an hour. having been up early we thought we go pop
into town and do a bit of shopping. We got back about 10.15 and was confronted by some angry residents shouting at us not to
drive on the grass. I was told from Claire at reception this was ok as we had a car that was electric and needed to be charged.
I phoned reception and told them the problem and they said they would have words with the residents to explain that my car
is electric and need to be charged. At about 12.00 dinner time from our caravan all i could see was about 3 residents keep looking
and pointing towards our caravan and car. All i wanted was a relaxing holiday with my children and it started to turn into a nightmare
I didn't feel welcome or comfortable after two of the residents where shouting they where not allowed to park on the grass
and said i should go to reception and get it sorted. This was not 12.15 we felt very unwelcome and decided that our holiday was
been ruined from first check in. We had not even been there a full 24 hours and we felt let down in all areas of our holiday.
After going to reception at 12.30 Claire was in a meeting and we had to call back. at 13.15 Claire could not help us anymore saying they
had no more caravans available leaving us no option but to go home this was at about 13.15 not even 22 hours had passed and we where
heading home. The owners of 31 Wansbeck View, and 20 Summer Meadows don't have much respect for holiday makers. Not sure
what caravan the other woman was from i think it was also a caravan in the Summer Meadows. I will certainly not be recommending
your holiday park to any on my friends or family

Stayed here with friends, amazing place, by the beach, great facilities, would recommend this site to anyone, particularly families. We have been here 3 times, and will definitely be going again. Great dog walk area, swimming pool, games room, 2 bars, outdoor playing area

This could be a great place as the staff are brillant and friendly and helpful the entertainment is very good for children views are lovely the thing that let's this site down is the toilet facilities on the touring site are very poor it's a little hut and very out of date and a regular kids hang out point, kids are left to run riot round the site and to get on with it, and also the site has a lot of gypsies on site they did not cause any trouble at all but two families were bad and one morning had to ring security as they were fighting at 5 am in the morning also had their trucks starting up very early in the morning and doors slamming and horns beeping was very disappointed with this holiday feel like I wasted my money will not return here which is a shame as the staff were great

This was 2009 and nowadays Sandy Bay Holiday Park is totally different. Now the best place to visit and perfect for family bonding and even friends or group hang outs. -

It's the first time we'd been to Northumberland and we loved it. We've told all our friends about the beautiful beaches and surrounding countryside.

Thank you for a lovely stay - the beach was nice, we loved the entertainment in the club and our caravan was really comfortable.
