14 Aug 2009: harries from wales reviewed Hendwr Caravan Park

We have just spent a wonderful week at Hendwr and have come back totally chilled out! We normally go camping but for a change decided to stay in a log cabin. Good job we did, as we reckon it was the wettest first week in August on record. This didn't matter though as we all had a fantastic time touring North Wales, as well as climbing Snowdon! The lodge was warm, clean (and dry!) and perfect for our family of 4 - our lodge was the one by the stream and the children spent many hours paddling and playing in the water (even in the rain) - it was great for them to have the freedom to get wet and dirty. All the staff were very helpful and friendly.
A thoroughly good time was had by all.

12 Apr 2009: jwoods40 from merseyside reviewed Hendwr Caravan Park

we have just come back 2 days early from our holiday here after staying in one of the sites log cabins.
There were 3 bedrooms sleeping 6 people. the seating consisted of a very small 2 seater couch, and 2 very small chairs covered in throws which had all seen better days!
so only enough seating for 4 people!
the heating consisted of a three bar fire and a few blower heaters dotted around (which ran away with the electric, which was also on a very expensive meter at a pound a
go.)
when we enquired about using the shower in the lodge we were told not to bother as the water pressure wasnt very good and to WALK OVER TO THE CAMPSITE AND USE THEIR SHOWERS.....
on handing the keys back to the site owner he inspected the cabin and decided we had broken the cooker hood which had a lift up lid that had got stuck going down. he then proceeded to withold our deposit!

This park, on the borders of Snowdonia, is surrounded by breathtaking views and is approached along a beautiful, wooded driveway. It is independently managed and set in four acres of parkland.
Hendwr can accommodate 40 touring caravans on unmarked grass pitches set around the perimeter of the field. The two amenity buildings – one at each end of the touring area – house the immaculate toilets and showers. They are equipped with shaving points and plugs for hairdryers, and there’s no extra charge for hot showers.
Chemical disposal areas are located near the toilet blocks. There is also a small launderette with token-operated machines and dryers, together with a deep sink and ironing facilities. Indoor dishwashing facilities are provided, as is a gas exchange facility, and tourist information. The
small site shop has a good selection of food for sale.
Although the site has no playground, there is a field that can be used for games and dogs can be exercised on the tree-lined driveway. Hendwr even boasts its wn stream where you can fish for trout free of charge.
There are many activities to be enjoyed nearby – these include swimming indoors at Corwen and sailing and windsurfing at Bala Lake, where you can also enjoy some canoeing. Horse riding, tennis and golf are also on offer nearby.
Whether you are looking for a quiet, relaxing holiday or a more action-packed one, Hendwr Caravan Park could be just the site for you, with many activities just a short drive away.21 Apr 2005
