Apart from being Britain's surf capital, Newquay has other attractions including Newquay Zoo, Sea Life Centre, Water World, Trenance Leisure Park and a buzzing night life.
Perranporth, a small seaside town with the wonderful open beach of Perran Bay is wonderful for families, with miles of golden sand making it a popular destination for those long summer days on the beach. We booked a few days at Monkey Tree,Holiday Park, not knowing what to expect,we were pleasantly surprised, the booking in was swift and efficient,we were handed a welcome pack and gate pass, and allotted a pitch.
this took a while to find, but this was not a problem, the site was much bigger than we expected, with lots of separate fields. On site there is an animal/bird of prey area which is well worth a walk around in the centre of which is a fishing lake.there was a fishing competition taking place while we walked around.
The bakery and shop sold everything we needed. there is an outdoor pool on site, which served its purpose well my daughter said it was nice and warm has it is heated, also a fish and chip shop,Bar and club.
There were plenty of toilets blocks around the site, which were clean and well maintained.what more can I say we had a lovely stay and would go again. Thanks Monkey Tree,a happy family ps the dog had a good stay also
Nice dog walk path around the site
We stayed at this park for a week. our holiday there was in fact a prize which I won in a competition in "Practical caravan".
The booking in and reception was really easy, the staff very nice and helpful. Our pitch was great, plenty of space, with our own water, hook up and drainage. The areas all around the park were well tended, shop was fully stocked up. The shower and toilet block was spotlessly clean, and very close to our pitch.I do appreciate that our visit was in June,in our area there were only 3 tourers, and probably the park is much more busier in school holidays. All in all, a lovely park and we would not hesitate to return.Definately 4 stars!

On arrival to this site I was surprised how many fields there were accomodating tourers tents and motorhomes.
We checked in at reception very easy, and was handed a welcome pack and directions to our pitch. We were handed a barrier card to enter and exit the park. There was also a car wash facility you could use by reception for a small charge. We found our pitch quite easily. after setting up we decided to explore the park. The outdoor pool was heated, the pool was an adequate size. Next door was the club house and the dining area the menu was varied and reasonably priced. The entertainment for the week was advertised on a board outside the club. The shop was well stocked but if you require a newspaper you need to order one. There were several play parks dotted around and kids clubs going on through the morning. There were bouncy castles and trampolines for kids to use you could purchase a wristband £3 and they can use them all day. A new acoustic open air bar has been opened for 2009 and the setting is superb, in the day it serves food and drinks and in the evening it has a singer. The furniture is all new wicker chairs and tables. There are several toilet and shower blocks however one of the blocks needs updating. There are two laundry rooms the washing machines automatically provide detergent and softener in the price. There is a lovely farm and fishing lake to walk around. We used the clubhouse every evening as there was excellent entertainment every night. We would arrive after the kids entertainment and never failed to find a table to enjoy the evening.
The drinks at the bar were very reasonable considering it was a holiday park.
I woud recommend Monkey Tree as a family holiday with fab entertainers

This is a large site set a mile or so inland from the coast. It is quite exposed to the winds off the Atlantic so make sure you are well pegged down. You will need rock pegs.
Large spacious pitching areas are well divided by landscaped areas so the site never feels as big as it is. Toilet facilities were new and kept very clean throughout our stay.
We paid the extra to hire a private shower room suite and thought it was well worth it.
The site has a WiFi facility priced quite reasonably. The on site club sells drinks at pub prices and the well stocked shop is not overly expensive. Limited menu available at the takeaway, but again reasonably priced.
There are two on site laundry rooms with ample numbers of washing machines.
The pool is not huge, but is heated and coped with the numbers quite easily. Small play areas are scattered around the site, while there is a larger play area close to the club house complex. The adjacent rally/event area provides loads of room for games and flying kites.
There is an activity area that houses many inflatable’s and such, and is priced at £3 per day for a wrist band. Adjacent is the small arcade and crazy golf.
This is a well laid out site that offers everything you need. Pitching fees are below those of other comparable sites in the region and while on site you don’t feel you are being ripped off all the time.

This site is an ideal base to enjoy the miles of golden sands around Newquay and Perranporth, ideal for families and surfers alike. Its location close to the
A30 also makes it easy to explore attractions further afield. With a fishing lake, restaurant, outdoor pool and a bar, you will also be entertained if you stay on site. The pitches here are large, level and edged with hedging and most have electric hook-up.
Water and washrooms are within easy walking distance of all pitches. The site also provides laundry facilities.

Large sites like the Monkey Tree Holiday Park can feel rather hectic, but here a fine balance has been struck. You
can ask for a pitch away from the many facilities if you’d rather have peace and quiet. Or, if you prefer, find a pitch close by the well stocked supermarket, the clubhouse with its cabaret stage, the heated outdoor pool or the many other facilities. Whatever kind of pitch you’d like, just ask the friendly staff at reception.
There’s plenty to do here, with children’s play areas, a games room and a heated outdoor pool. If you prefer to pass your time more quietly, try the fishing lake.
On-site facilities are so extensive it could be a long time before you need to head further afield. When you do, you’ll find that Cornwall’s surfing capital, Newquay, is just
a few miles away. In the other direction you’ll find Perranporth, with its beautiful bay and superb coastal path. In between are numerous little coves and bays
to explore. You never know, you might get one all to yourself!
Whatever you’re looking for, Monkey Tree Holiday Park can provide it. There’s enough to keep the most hyperactive family busy, but space for those who want to sit back and relax, too.

Practical Motorhome independent site reviews Feb 2007
This large site, (450 pitches) has a nice mix of pitches. Some offer peace and quiet, while others are set among
the varied facilities. These include a well-stocked mini supermarket, a clubhouse with cabaret stage, a restaurant and an outdoor heated swimming pool complex with sauna.Whichever kind of pitch you prefer, just ask at the reception where the staff are friendly and eager to please.
Attached to the site is Sky Park where you can take
power-kite, power-buggy and ‘boardercross’ lessons. This is in addition to the three children’s play areas sporting all new equipment. Or, if you fancy something quieter there is a fishing lake.
Off site, within a few short miles, you will find Newquay (pictured below), the surfing capital of the UK. Travel in the opposite direction and you will come across Perranporth with its beautiful bay and superb coastal-path walks.
Between the two towns, there are numerous lanes leading to many little coves and bays. You never know, you might even get one to yourself!
This site will appeal to all in some way: excellent for families throughout the season, as well as for couples who prefer camping in the off-peak season.
