Lovely secluded well maintained, clean, friendly site. Spacious pitches including fully serviced. A lot of pitches are taken up by 'permanent' tourers making the site look busier than it actually is. It was very quiet and peaceful. Nice large areas for tents. Digital TV signal was great. No wifi apart from in the bar of the adjoining hotel but they are working on it. Clean toilet/laundry/washing up facilities (3) two of which are older and not very warm but the newest block is top class. Showers cost 50p and never went cold and went on until you switched off. Small play park area for children and dog walking area. Small shop selling a selection of usual provisions (no papers). The beach is about 2 miles drive away and Porthmadog town is only a few minutes. Would definitely stay again.
: June in 2011Accessed by a private road this is a very quiet, select, clean and well laid out site hidden away in a valley just a two minutes drive from Porthmadog centre.
Tourer and motorhome pitches are level and hard standing with an all weather surface (slate chippings) - awnings also have to be on this surface so you will need to use 'hard ground pegs' if you intend to put one up. A mown grassed area along side the awning space gives plenty of room to park your car.
There are ample water points by many electric hook-up posts.
RECEPTION for TV, RADIO and some mobile phone networks is VERY POOR!! Forget the Status aerial for the TVl! We spent ages messing around with latest tecnnology equipment only to find that a traditional type aerial, a pole of approx 12' and a long piece of coax through the caravan window would give us a perfect picture.
Toilet blocks were clean and well kept but showers had a charge of 50p which I though was a bit high in view of the nightly tariff.
There is a licensed bar with a family room on site at the quiet 'Country Inn' but no food was available (July) so we had to drive out when we wanted to eat away from our caravan.
The site has a nice childrens play area and appeared to be very child friendly for responsible parents.
This site is not noisy or lively.
The site has public footpath access to Moel-y-Gest mountain and surrounding area but no direct access to the beach.
Would I return here? YES!
During our very pleasant stay here, I felt comfortable and our belongings safe amongst other friendly likeminded people.

We have camped on this site many times and always found that the staff are really friendly and helpful (on our first visit even helped us to put up our new tent!) The toilets and facilities are pleasant and very clean. The setting is beautiful and convenient for both the town and beach. The site is one of the least noisy sites we have stayed on and it is good to enjoy a good nights sleep. We are looking to stay there again this year and would highly recommend it.

I think the review before mine was at a totally differnet park. We stayed for 2 nights over May Day. The pitches for caravans seemed to be all level hard standing and the area for tents is slighly sloping but we found a lovely level spot. The showers and toilets were spotlessly clean and it looks like there is a brand new block being built. The shop on sight was stocked adequately it does not profess to be a supermarket. My 2 small children loved the play area that also seemed to be new. The bar had a family room so we could take the children in, they really enjoyed the bottle top bingo. Overall a great family park without all the gimics of the larger parks.

Visited this site with myy friend and her 3 small children as is stated it was a clean, family, friendly site.
Not a family site. The children (or anyone for that matter) were not allowed to speak after 10.00pm. They made you go to bed at 10.00 and implied that you should not be drinking!!
Playground was small and had gravel underneath it, and was very close to the busy road through the campsite.
Owners and wardens were very strict. No music tvs radios even in the day.
Showers and toilets were dirty.
Shop had limited choice and stock.
Bar was poky, loud, and dirty with no entertainment for children.
Restaurant was closed.
Launderette etc were expensive
Uneven pitches and waterlogged very boggy.
Bins were full and a long steep hike over a very steep hill from where we were pitched.
OK for the caravanners though - seems that that is what they cater for.
