The first time we arrived at Castaways my husband saw the gas terminal & said ' Where on earth have you brought us to??' That was 10 years and about 21 visits ago. (We don't even notice the terminal's there). The place has certainly worked it's magic on us & both we & the dog think it's just perfect. A lovely friendly welcome, clean & tidy caravan & site, beautiful beaches & countryside - so relaxing. We can't wait to return every time we leave.

Second visit to castaways, love the place. Very dog friendly, amazing views. Easy access to the best dog friendly beach in the uk. Perfect position in the loveliest village in Norfolk. Very clean and functional caravans and park and helpful, polite owners and staff. Will defiantly be visiting again.

Perfect place to unwind and get away from it all. Great sandy beaches that go on as far as the eye can see and totally unspoilt.
Highly recommend taking dogs as they are very well catered for as great walks locally.
Will definately book some more "chill out" time there again in the future as the views of the sea from the caravans are amazing.

What a wonderful piece of heaven...Wonderful friendly people and a wonderful lodge. Beautiful quiet beaches and dog friendly...Couldn't ask for anything more.
Good entertainment in the evenings and I almost don't want to tell anyone..just so I can keep it to myself...but that wouldn't be fair!

The park has caravans, flats and lodges but isn't too big. Even with a full park, it was still quiet and you didn't bump into lots of people.
I took my dogs, who were welcome in the bar, which made the evenings more enjoyable as it's their holiday too!
Good entertainment in the evenings and again, not over crowded.
As for the beach, it was a dog walkers paradise...spent many hours down there every day and hardly saw other people.
Nice clean sandy beach and you could walk for hours.
A good shop on site and the friendliest staff you could ever meet.

I sent 5 days there in May in a Caravan with my dog and on this occasion I spent 6 days in a lodge with family and 2 dogs.....don't think I will be going any where else in future...I definately will be going back to Castaways....Keep doing what you're doing Castaways!

We booked a Lodge at Castaways through Hoseasons for ourselves and our three foster children. The park is small by prtesent day standards but that does not detract from the fact that it provides an excellent holiday.
The staff are extremely friendly and work hard to ensure their guests have a great holiday. The Lodge was excellent, comfortable and well equipped. The club house opened arounf 6.30 every night so does not attract those who wish to spend their whole day drinking. Entertainment, though 'homespun' on most nights was good and was certainly enjoyed by us and the children. A few steps take you down to a fantastic beach which even in the last week in July was very quiet. The Park is ideal for families who want something different to the offerings of some of the bigger players. eg No massive amusement arcades and a small friendly clubhouse.
All in all an excellent holiday and good value for money in a beautiful peaceful part of the country.

Can't speak highly enough of this holiday park.Lovely caravan , great views , super staff, excellent entertainment. As the last review states the Bacton oil and gas terminal is just up the coast but it is indeed silent and odourless.
Would recommend this site to anyone. Can't wait to make a return visit. Mr J.K.

Dog friendly & most welcoming
Good clean accommodation. Outstanding clifftop sea views. Nice bar & entertainment also dog friendly. Adjacent to perfect cliff walks overlooking the sea with direct beach access from the site. Only downside is the Bacton gas terminal to the left side but it is silent and odourless and does not spoil the sea views. Reasonably priced and you are sure of a warm welcome from Anna. Don`t forget to bring your binoculars to see the cargo & container ships, fishing boats & seals. Highly recommended by Mrs.R.F.
