Owner's description
Situated in it's own valley...
On the edge of the historic, old market and elegant spa town of Buxton.
Nestling amongst the surrounding Derbyshire hills at a height of over 1000ft, Buxton is reputed to be the highest town in England, and grew in fame as a spa town because of the pale blue water which bubbles up from thermal springs in the heart of the Peak District.
Lime Tree Park is ideally placed for discovering the glories of the Derbyshire countryside. Next to a thickly wooded limestone gorge, and with the backdrop of a magnificent old railway viaduct, Lime Tree is in a Special Landscaped Area perfect for touring, camping or a family holiday in our modern luxury accommodation. A relaxing haven, that enjoys far reaching views over nearby Buxton and the surrounding hills.

Wow what a friendly site, we spent the august bank holiday weekend here, the staff are very accomadating and eager to help.
Check in was easy, and we were shown to our pitch, some are up a very steep hill, after trying our hardest without burning out the clutch, the kind staff with the landrovers pulled our van up the hill and put it on our allocated pitch.
The area we were in was very windy and made putting up the awning a job and half!!
Onsite facilities were of a high standard although limited, play park was small and tucked away, laundry rooms were ok, (i didnt use them), showers and toilets were of a very good standard, a pleasure to use, on site shop small and expensive.
I would recommend this site to anyone who enjoys walking, there are lots of interesting routes to to take in the local beauty.
Off site facilities are good morrisons nearby and the lovely town of buxton.

Originally a mobile home park, Lime Tree recently added a touring site on a plateau approached by a narrow, steep, 200m drive. The view is stunning, with hills, valleys and an impressive viaduct which is still used by the occasional train slowly carting minerals.
Few pitches are absolutely level, so blocks are required. Toilet and shower facilities are excellent, and include free hair dryers. There are plenty of toilets and showers to limit queues.
