Newberry Valley Park

Combe Martin, Devon

Run by the Fletcher Family, this quiet and intimate campsite is all about peace and tranquility, listening to the calming sounds of the countryside and valley that surround Newberry Farm. With pitches in small paddocks adjacent to a two-acre lake (stocked with coarse fish), secluded woodland walks and meadows, there are plenty of opportunities to relax here and soak up the stillness.

Heated toilets with wash basins and shower rooms even include a family bathroom for those who prefer a soak in the bath to a quick shower. There is also a laundry room and dishwashing room, and all these facilities are centrally located within the park, so that you won't have far to walk, wherever you're pitched.

This family-run site is one of the best campsites in Devon, located a short distance east of Exmoor, is a haven for wildlife, so do look out for owls, buzzards, badgers, foxes and deer during your holiday. Elsewhere on the site you’ll find a shop stocking the essentials.

Make this your base for your tent camping, motorhome and caravan holidays in Devon and you'll be able to explore the spectacularly rugged North Devon coastline and idyllic sandy beaches near Combe Martin.

Visit Ilfracombe to see this grand old Victorian seaside resort and harbour, which manages to combine gentility with dramatic cliffs and natural beauty. Marvel at the famous old tunnels down to the beach. In Victorian times men and women were strictly segregated for bathing, and they had a tunnel each, to different parts of the beach, to protect their modesty.

Go walking on Exmoor during your holiday, and see how many wild Exmoor ponies, goats, foxes, buzzards and red deer you can spot.

If you're out for a drive along the Exmoor coast, visit the beautiful Victorian seaside town of Lynton for fabulous sea views, great tea rooms and shops. Then take the cliff railway down to its twin town, Lynmouth, far below. Watch out for the seagulls as you stroll around the tiny Lynmouth Harbour, since they can spot a sandwich at 200 yards! Visit The Valley of the Rocks, too, with its wild goats, wild Exmoor ponies and unique rock formations. There's a great tea room and plenty of parking here, too.

Very nice site; we stayed for two weeks in June/July and had a very enjoyable holiday visiting the beautiful North Devon area.
The facilities were kept to a very high standard and were very modern and spotless. The site owners and staff are very hardworking and helpful. We had a fully serviced pitch which was block paved with pea gravel extension for an awning (and complete with picnic table!)
This is a site which I could recommend.

A great site, well laid out on several terraces, absolutely clean, great shower rooms, laundry, and dishwashing facility's.
The staff are friendly and helpful, and a nice lake to fish.
The on site shop is small but supplies essentials and the town is only a nice 10min walk
As a family of four we had a great week - Thanks

WOW......what great facilities. Superb friendly staf, but not over the top, really helpful. The site has the best facilities i have ever seen on a site. really spacious private shower/wash areas. extremely clean....and apparently very eco aware. What alovely location too, its not everywhere you can hear wolves in the morning......excellent, cant wait to visit again.

i would never stay at this camp site again.
very expensive, but the grass surfaces are not flat enough (tilted, like sleeping

on a hill!!!) so was an uncomfortable nights sleep. Also there were loud animals

noises all night, apparently from the wolf farm that they keep...
also cars just drive straight past your tent, which i found worrying.

the toilet facilities you would expect to be amazing because of the new build

facilities they have had put in. but there were no shampoo or soap dispensers

provided, and the same applied to the laundry room, there were no dispensers for

washing powers, etc. so although nice looking facilities, they were chocka block

full of people, so be prepared to queue, and then be rushed out like a production

line.

i also found the staff to be very miserable and militant! not relaxed at all.

when they want you out, you better go (after they get your money)!

also the only view you have from this site is of other tents, cars and caravans,

nothing glamorous like cliffs and rolling hills as the website suggests! don't

expect a sea view!

and boring as bad to, there are no provisions for socializing whatsoever!

so this campsite is good if you like a militant army regimented feel, with no

soap dispensers anywhere, a warden who is meant to be on at night but is not, and

having cars driving past your tent...

horrible experience, and never again.

there are plenty campsites a 2 min walk further from coombe martin, that i shall

visit next time!

We found Newberry Valley to be a perfect place for a well earned rest.
The staff were all very friendly and helpful.
The site was clean and quiet with the best washroom/toilet block we have come across in 30 years of caravaning!!!
It also has a fishing lake and although we do not fish it was a great place to walk around in the evenings.
Overall we thoroughly recommend this site for a stay in Devon and we will certainly use it next time we are this way.

We stayed at Newberry Valley for 16 nights. From the moment we arrived we were greated by friendly informative staff. The park was kept immaculate with staff working constantly to maintain high standards. We have been caravaning for over 30 years both in the UK and on the continent but I have never found such superd showering facilities, they are the the best we have ever used. Also had a great time fishing in the lake. Looking forward to booking for next year.

We had a lovely long weekend stay at this site. We were greeted by a very friendly warden and taken to our lovely pitch.
For us the site was a wonderfully tranquil haven and we absolutely loved the lake and great location, close to the beach and the little village of Combe Martin itself with mini supermarkets and pubs/cafes.
Any nature lovers should stay here for the abundance of wildlife on your door step (rabbits running around by the lake, geese, moor hens, ducks etc)
It was great to be able to take our dog with us and he was made to feel just as welcome as we were! The facilites were plentiful and spotlessly clean and all staff looked very professional in their matching uniforms. We will definitely be staying here again.

We were looking for a peaceful and quiet campsite with excellent facilities to make our first caravaning trip a pleasure for us and our children. This site was fantastic on every front. Helpful friendly staff, no hum of traffic, no gales blowing off the sea, and the best thing was that it is laid out so that you only see a few other pitches from your pitch. The toilets and showers were clean and hot, the shop had the essentials and the best rockpools we have come across are down in Combe Martin Bay just 5-10 minutes walk down a footpath... Would we visit again? Absolutely!
