We arrived on Saturday 26/8/17 after booking for 2nights on 7 /7/17 I suppose alarm bells should have started ringing when I asked if there was availability for the bank holiday weekend, the answer was yes but can you text me as I'm painting, I did this.
Looking forward to our weekend away we arrived at Two Acres campsite, on arrival I had to find someone to book in a person with a bare chest approached and said I've told the others to move up they are not happy, I explained I had booked for 2 nights and what did he mean by this? He told me he didn't know we were arriving as the owner tells him nothing and we have to share a pitch, I asked if we have to share a pitch does that mean we only pay half the fees each? He told me if I wanted to stay we paid the full price or leave and to take it up with the owner.
After a very quick visit to the facilities (I use the term loosely) the toilets were disgusting and very unhygienic and the shower I would not allow my dog to be bathed in, we decided to leave the site.
I contacted the owner who asked if I had been offered a grass area to pitch on I said no I repeated all what the bare chested person had told me the owner did apologise but that does not give me my weekend back or the abuse we suffered from his site person. We were however offered a site in Huntingdon that he owned after what we had witnessed from the first site we declined, I did tell him to look out for the review on his site.
If anybody is looking to book a campsite to see Ely please AVOID this one to save yourselves disappointment.
