I couldn't agree more with what those from Cheshire had to say about the site. From the second we pulled onto the site we were made to feel less than welcome, the kids couldn't ride on their bikes (coz the sign said no) there is no ball games of any description allowed (coz the sign said no) i am only thankful we were only staying two nights.

I have visited Derwent Caravan Park and found the owner rude and ignorant, He insulted my wife and was extremely rude to my children. He even pushed his wife over in the shop, this in front of my children who were very frightened. We left the site without even asking for a refund and will never return again. I just hope anyone with a family intending to visit the site reads this message before embarking on such a mistake.

Thank you

I dont know what planet those people from chesire are on.We totally disagree with all they;ve said as the site is of 5star rating and the owners are very friendly and extremely helpful and everybody is made to feel very welcome. There are site rules eg.no ball games on site and no cycling This is in respect to all the people on site but obviously this family don;t like to be told to obey the rules. We have used this site for many years and have not heard any bad reviews apart from this only on your review page.

If you have children especially if they like to ride bikes do not visit this campsite. I as well as many others during my 8 night stay, (should have been 21 nights) were told to leave. The manager dislikes children, is rude, abusive and blamed my kids for numerous things that happened on site, which they certainly did not do. He lied and said he had told me there was a problem when he saw me filling my paddling pool (which I don`t own and wouldn`t embarass my 15 and 13 yr old with. I have an indoor heated pool at home and I`m afraid a paddling pool would not suffice). We had to drive 5 hours home (at 10pm) and my husband had to return immediately for work. (He is working in Gateshead for 6 weeks - hence our long stay) The upset this man has caused my family is too distressing to write on here. If you are Irish as well do not stay here - the manager told us when he kicked some irish caravaners off his site that and I quote ` they would have taken over the site by the following day` There is no help, or any form of customer service on this site - the manager wants an easy life and it is supposed to be a family site. I have been to many a site in the UK - always found nothing is too much trouble and my boys have never caused any grievance to anyone. They are sensible and mature. Yes they play - is this a crime? If they were vandalising the site or doing drugs I could understand us being told to leave. As it was it was too late to find another site. He has simply ruined my boys holidays. On top of all this he did not save us a pitch for our awning - asked us to move the day after we arrived which we could not do as my husband was working a 14 hour shift. We were not allowed to use a groundsheet in case it ruined his grass, and numerous other things because he simply did not listen, help or understand. This man has almost put me off caravanning for life!
