The family-run, family-owned Flower of May Holiday Park offers 5* facilities no matter what you are looking for. With pitches available for tourers, motorhomes and tents, as well as static caravans and glamping pods to hire, there is something for everyone at this delightful park. Set in a tranquil, cliff top location, with views over towards the Yorkshire Wolds, you are in close proximity to the traditional seaside towns of Scarborough, Filey and Bridlington. While we provide some great pictures of what we offer on here, you should view our 360-degree tours on our website.

Pitches for tourers and motorhomes are hard-standing with water and drainage, with heated shower blocks in close proximity to all the pitches. Electricity is on a meter, so you pay for cards which have a value of £1, £5 or £10, pop them into the meter and it charges it with your credit.

On-park there is a leisure center which includes an indoor swimming pool, arcades, table tennis, ten-pin bowling, pool tables and squash courts. There is also a bar complex with an adults lounge and family lounge, with entertainment on selected nights for both children and the parents/grandparents.

There is also seasonal pitches at this park, as well as a wide range of holiday homes for private ownership. There are options to suit many budgets, with high quality, new caravans available to buy throughout the year. The season runs March-November, and your first years site fees are included in the price of the holiday home. Our full stock lists, including what is available on our other parks, can be viewed at www.flowerofmay.com

Where do I start!
I get the welcome email that gives details of the electric metres that are in place detailing that it is between £1 and £1.50 per day. Ok. Never had metres before in over 20 years especially when you book a pitch with electric. It's no biggy even though I'm paying high peak rate for the pitch and the swimming pool is closed along with cafe and fish and chip shop. There's no entertainment and the pitches are tiny. Vans are crammed on!
I arrive and check in and told sorry prices of electric have gone up to £2.50 to £3 per day! I only got the email 1 to 2 weeks before. We're there so no choice now.
IT IS CERTAINLY NOT £3 PER DAY!!!
Day 1 £6.50. I ring and they send a warden(very lovely and helpful people) to check the metre - I also watched this a few times with other vans. It made no difference at all.
Day 2 - £6. I ring to complain. I do have to say the older lady in reception is exceptionally rude.
The metres are set at 38p per unit (I pay 28p at home and can run a full house on £5 a day!). I speak to the young guy on the phone who says they buy in the electric at 38p because its business rates. Im told we all need to tighten our belts - well no, not on holiday! He states I'm clearly not happy so I can go elsewhere and they'll refund the rest of the week. I couldn't because my husband had gone back to work with the car that tows the van.
There were others who had taken their awnings for their teenagers to sleep in but couldn't afford to heat it for them.
Another family were in a tent and had gone through £5 by ten at night.
The pitches are small, the shower blocks are basic, 2 staff were down right rude.
On the plus side its location is good, the wardens were helpful and friendly.

On the whole very disappointed and massively overpriced! Very greedy with prices. Certainly wouldn't go again and I don't think it's just down to the fuel prices!

We were not permitted entry because our campervan was judged to be " below standard". Our campervan is a classic and We were towing a classic car. We wondered if there was an issue connected to race as I made payment but we were turned away when my partner spoke in his native Irish accent. We left when an aggressive man turned up and blocked our way with his van.

Visited this site for the first time over the Bank Holiday weekend. Have usually avoided large sites and generally find them too impersonal but was pleasantly surprised by this one.

Well sited, just five minutes drive into Filey and about 10/15 minutes into Scarborough so nice and central.

Site was very clean and generally well maintained apart from the door to the ladies shower block which would only open so far before it stuck. Showers and toilets very clean, showers hot enough but very powerful -probably too powerful for little ones!

Lovely little café on site which served a great breakfast and lovely coffee. Well stocked supermarket and fish and chip shop too.

We appreciated the adults only rooms on the first floor of the bar complex, but a shame they were only open Saturday and Sunday. It looked like there was plenty of entertainment laid on for the kids too. We didn't use the pool or leisure complex but would another time.

Have booked already to return for August Would definitely recommend.

enquired about camping on this site for a week summer 2011 with my family.Wasn't happy being told my tent was too big 7.4mt x 3.5mtr, Camping has really exploded with more and more families wishing to camp (so tents are bigger)as this is a most excellent site you would have thought it catered for big tents.

Cannot not fault facilities, shower/toilet/pots & pans rooms are cleaned daily and maintained well. Very disappointed that there is a charge for electricity, never had to do this before and found it costly for just a 5 visit. Also dissapointed that families are also charged for using swimming pool, costly for a family of 5. Entertainment was very good, however Bar staff could have been more approachable & friendly, plus prices for drinks were more costly, therefore would not go in that often. Wardens were ok however seemed to dislike children playing on the park at dusk! Overall enjoyable stay but doubt will return due to cost of electricity.

I cannot praise this site highly enough. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The showers, washrooms and toilets are spotless and have everything you need. We took our two granddaughters, 13 and 9yrs, they loved the swimming pool, play area and entertainment at night. We originally went for 5 days but booked an extra night because we didn`t want to come home. We will definitely be using this site again and would recommend it to anyone.

We visited The Flower of May in August, after moving site from a Haven site down the road, we found the site clea, nicely presented and the staff really really pleasant. The toilets were nice and clean, the play ground was great for the kids and the evening enterainment good. The only downside of this site would be that you have to pay to go in the swimming pool. However that certainly wouldnt put us off from visiting this lovely site next year.

This park is ideally located to access Scarborough, Filey and Bridlington by car. There is no direct access to a beach but a great cliff top view is a short walk away. Site is kept clean but we tend not to use toilet blocks too much anyway.

Our main gripes with this site is the fact it is laid out to maximise profit i.e. your crammed on with very little if any 'personal space' if your using your awning. Also, we were mixed in with some tents (no offence intended here) which meant that it was quite noisy late on when our kids were in bed.

We were also advised that only 'star' pitched remeained when booking, but as previous reviewer states we cannot recall any 'standard' pitches.

Playground was of good quality.

Flower of May Holiday Park, Scarborough.
Handy tip, don't spend your money paying £4.50 per night for star pitch, they only have star pitches so you will be put on one anyway and not charged for it!! Also the 'all weather awning pitches flood',if you take your awning down, they will refund you the money - but we couldn't do this with two kids and a dog in tow, needed the storage space. I asked the area manager for a refund for the star pitch as less than half the caravans had paid for this facility and was told to 'mind my own business'.
The swimming pool was £1.30 per child and £1.70 per adult, this added up for a family of four. There was't any entertainement mid week at the start of July and the arcade closed at tea time. I have visited this site previously, but unfortunately this time I won't be back. The site is clean but you are charged for too many extras.

Nice clean park with decent size park for the kids and good facilities. Showers are clean and plentiful. Easy to get to off main Scarborough to Filey Road but is much closer to Filey than it is to Scarborough. Only gripe was that you had to pay extra for Swimmimg pool, i thought it was included in pitch fee which is not exactly cheap. On the whole though well recommended with friendly staff.

We have a caravan on the fir tree park site owned by flower of may.My father bought our 2 year old daughter olivia who has a very rare heart condition the caravan last august.
The site and everything on it are brilliant olivia enjoys every visit, the only down side is the family room where the kids have entertainment. It is non smoking at the bar only which spoils the enjoyment for a majority of the kids, especially olivia as exposure to smoke could cause a heart attack. We have written to flower of may asking them to consider making this room non smoking,as there is another large bar beside the family one where adults can enjoy a smoke until the ban comes in next year,we are still waiting and hoping for a reply before the new season starts, and hope and i am sure we will have many more enjoyable seasons on fir tree park.shane rhodes.

THIS SITE IS IN A EXCELLENT POSITION FOR SCARBROUGH AND FILEY, ALL AMIENTYS ARE OF EXCELLENT STANDARD, AND ARE VERY CLEAN AND TIDY. THE ONLY DOWNSIDE TO THIS SITE IS THE LITTLE EXTRAS YOU HAVE TO PAY ON YOUR ARRIVAL ie. pay for awing, extra car, you also have to pay extra if you want to stay longer on the last day as you have to vacate the site for 12 noon. BUT IF YOU ARE PREPARED FOR THESE LITTLE EXTRAS (now that you know) ITS A BRILL SITE FOR ALL THE FAMILY AND ITS WELL WORTH THE VISIT
