Moon and Sixpence is a quiet campsite in Suffolk that boasts a five-pennant rating from the AA.

The park has pitches for touring caravans and motorhomes, as well as offering a number of holiday lodges and caravans for sale. Every pitch has room for an awning and parking for up to two cars, as well as a TV connection, grey waste and water points. Most have 5A electric hook-ups – some are hardstanding and have 10A hook-ups. Panel vans are not permitted and this is a dog friendly campsite, although there's a small fee to pay if you want to bring your dog.

The parkland at Moon and Sixpence stretches out over 85 acres, with an additional 100 acres of woodland to explore – great for getting away from it all on your motorhome and caravan holidays. The park also has a private lake and sandy beach, ideal for guests that want to enjoy a holiday experience without travelling far from the park.

Activities available at the Moon and Sixpence include a nine-hole golf course, basketball and volleyball courts, petanque and table tennis. There are also three hard tennis courts for guests to use, while the trails that lead around the park and into the woodland are ideal for walking, jogging, cycling and dog walking. Fishing is available at Moon and Sixpence from mid-September to mid-October, and there is also a bowling green. Kids staying here will love the two adventure playgrounds, with swings, slides and much more.

The Moon and Sixpence has the Rendezvous Restaurant and Bars, where local ales and food are served. And if you want to stock up on your essentials and cook back at your pitch, there is a handy on-site shop selling groceries as well as fresh bread every morning.

The surrounding Suffolk countryside gives you much to explore on your holidays in East Anglia. If you've pitched at the tranquil Moon and Sixpence, the Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is on your doorstep. The small town of Orford with its English Heritage owned castle is worth a day out, and it's just a half hour drive from this campsite. Pretty Aldeburgh is also only about a 30-minute car ride from Moon and Sixpence – buy fresh fish, wander along the Blue Flag shingle beach or catch a concert at the world famous Snape Maltings. And the historic riverside town of Woodbridge is often overlooked but makes a lovely day out. Just 20 minutes in the car and you could be at Sutton Hoo, the famous Anglo-Saxon royal burial site, now run by the National Trust, or for something historic but rather less old, there's Kentwell Hall, a stately home about an hour's drive from Moon and Sixpence.

If you're in need of a bit more hustle and bustle, head into Ipswich or down to Felixstowe – you'll reach either within half an hour. Or drive to neighbouring Essex and discover Roman Colchester, with its castle and Roman gates – there's also a zoo here, a great leisure complex and the Go Bananas soft play centre for children.

Either way, there's loads to do on your motorhome tours and caravan holidays in Suffolk.

Warning Mum n Dad and 2 kids 3 or over £80 per night
My wife and I, our daughter and her partner, and there 2 children 1 aged 3 the other 4 and we were charged a rate of £120 per night YES
£120 per night.
Whilst I agree it does state on the website that children 3 or over are charged at a rate of £20 per night, I do not understand this extreme charge rate.
I was told that they had to charge this rate due to electric going up etc. but really would my granddaughter aged 3 use another £20 of electric whilst staying in our caravan ? ? ?
A cut off of 12 / 15 would be much more appropriate I think.
Even then the charge rate would be far in excess of other sites.
That said the facilities at this site are excellent, and the bar run by Simon and his family is a great place for the evening.
For a couple, this site is very good, but not a good place for families, in fact I get the impression with the charge rate they are trying to make this an adult only site by stealth.
