We stayed here for the Practical Motorhome and Practical Caravan Reader Rally this year - and last year - and the site was as superb as ever. We enjoyed eating in the pub on site, were entertained by the live music and found Stowford Farm Meadows to be a great host for our rally. The site is on the top of Berry Down, with pretty views of the surrounding hills, and we enjoyed walking down by the river/stream from the site. We even had good weather...

Went to Stowford Farm last year for the Practical Caravan Reader Rally, facilities were all clean and nice, great bar to escape to from time to time! We were very lucky with the weather so took advantage of the open spaces that that all over the park. Takeaway was average not great but overall great place to spend my Bank Holiday Weekend.

This is a site where inexperienced caravanners can visit secure in the knowledge that everything will be alright. The organisation of the site is phenomenal. It is clean, friendly well run & picturesque . We have found everyone who works on the site really helpful and supportive. There are so many places to visit that even after visiting North Devon for more than 30 years there is more to visit and Stowford Farm is an excellent base to do it from.We will be visit again, the sooner the better!

It's is very easy to see why many people would think this site nice. It is nice. A great site with great amenities and loads to do placed in one of the nicest parts of the country.

But this review is aimed at anyone planning to seasonally store and pitch their caravan with Stowford. They have recently put their prices up for storage by 25% in one step which in the current climate most would agree is unreasonable but Stowford's reasons for this was '...well we looked around at other sites in the area and found our prices were too low and so have increased our prices in line with other sites'

Our caravan is simply kept in a field and on many occasions has been pulled out with mud all around the base and up to the axle showing clearly that the van has been left deep in wet soggy mud...

A great site for all the family. Very well presented. Excellent location for north cornwall and devon. I've stayed here a few times in recent years and I am beginning to feel that the site is expanding in size faster than improvements to the facilities. During the peak season the park can feel very busy and crowded. Don't feel I am being too critical, this park can be considered as one of the best in the country, I just fear that they might spoil it.

An excellent site with excellent facilites. Would highly recommend. Nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff. The on site chip shop serves excellent food and the on site shop has a large variety of food and accessories. You also have the benefit of a on site caravan shop for the last minuite things.

It is a must if you are in the Ilfracombe area on holiday.

The popular north Devon seaside resort of Ilfracombe is just a short drive from the huge Stowford Farm site. The town highlight is the lively little harbour that the whole family will enjoy exploring.
Another good day trip is a cruise to Lundy Island, where thousands of marine birds rest, or visit Watermouth Castle and Family Theme Park, which is just three miles away.
You won’t need to go anywhere to find fun though. The site has enough activities to keep the family busy. They include a play area, recreation field, an indoor heated pool, golf and crazy golf, horse riding and woodland walks. Petorama, a petting zoo, is also
a favourite with children; they can get up close to goats, sheep, pigs, chipmunks, budgies, guinea pigs and rabbits.
The site is set in 500 acres of countryside. The pitches are all spacious with access to electric hook-up and water points. There are five modern washblocks across the site, each with family rooms and a launderette.
Stowford has a shop, take away, and a pub with good family entertainment. If you have a problem with your van, the staff at the caravan accessories shop will be able
to help you out. You can also get your van serviced or repaired at this comprehensive site.

This site has it all. Although the owners have started developing lodges, you get
the feeling that the site was designed with caravanners
in mind. It even has a caravan maintenance facility (standard servicing and emergency repairs) which is run in conjunction with a useful website; www.caravanfaultfinder.co.uk. And there’s an on-site dealer, selling Adria, Bailey, Elddis, Fleetwood and Coachman vans.
The generously sized touring pitches are set among 500 acres
of rolling countryside, and the facilities are great. They include
a huge shop, fast food, restaurant, play areas and a large, heated indoor swimming pool. The bar, which is all beams and wooden floors, is charming, and most of the other facilities are located in sensitively adapted, aesthetically pleasing stone farm buildings
On-site activities include a golf course, riding stables and a woodland walk. Kids will love Petorama, a petting zoo with goats, sheep, pigs, chipmunks, budgies, guinea pigs and rabbit. The activities here even extend to ferret racing – and yes, they do take bets.

Stowford Farm Meadows is just that
– a farm surrounded by meadows – and boasting excellent facilities, including bars, a splendid shop, a fast-food stand,
a restaurant, play areas and a 22mx10m heated indoor swimming pool.
Most of the facilities are housed in sensitively adapted stone farm buildings. One, the long bar, provides a charming setting that is all beams and polished wooden floors.

Practical Caravans Top 100 Parks Awards 2004

Stowford Farm Meadows is just that – a farm surrounded by meadows. There are currently no cabins and no statics, just acres of touring pitches. The site includes a caravan maintenance facility (standard servicing, and emergency repairs), and is run in conjunction with a useful website for caravanners at www.caravanfaultfinder.co.uk.

Stowford offers excellent facilities such as bars, a splendid shop, fast food, restaurant, play areas and a heated indoor swimming pool measuring in at a decent 22x10m. The long bar, which is all beams and polished wooden floors, is absolutely charming, and most of the facilities have been located in sensitively-adapted stone farm buildings.

There are plenty of on-site activities in keeping with the farming ethos of the place, including a huge golf course, riding stables and a woodland walk. Kids will love Petorama, a petting zoo with goats, sheep, pigs, budgies, chipmunks, guinea pigs and rabbits to name but a few. They even have ferret racing – and yes, they do take bets!

Despite all the wholesome outdoor pursuits, this is a fun place to visit, with karaoke, discos for the kids and entertainment every night in high season for the adults. It’s a site that knows its customers well, and gives them exactly what they want.

Practical Caravans Top 100 Parks Awards 2003

Stowford Farm Meadows is a large site but has the comfortable feel of somewhere considerably smaller. This is largely due to its 570 pitches being split into five separate fields, each with its own amenities block. The majority of these have 10 or 15A electric hook-up, and 50 are hardstanding.

The washing facilities are also in tip-top condition and are decorated with flowers every day. The newest block also has under-floor heating. Families are well catered-for: along with an extensive play area there is a football field and volleyball, tennis, basketball courts and an indoor pool. There is also a covered mini-zoo on site, and local attractions include a dinosaur park, Watermouth Castle and the Tarka Trail Cycle Path.

Those who enjoy a good ramble have been considered, too. They will find a delightful marked walks through the woods, which in bluebell season are simply stunning. Family entertainments run in the evenings and there are three pubs on site. A café and restaurant also serves family meals and there is a takeaway if you want to eat back at your pitch. Security guards are employed in high season, so you’ll be safe from crime, no matter what the time of day.
