We stayed at Willows for three nights in October 08, admitedly there had been some rain and the site is near the river, but we found the ground to be badly drained and sodden, many pitches were unusable. The toilets were tired but clean. The play area was nice and we were able to park near it but unfortunatley the wardens saw fit to cover it up after one day (we were there for half term so thought it was mean they couldn't wait a few days). The children were told off for riding their bikes on the grass. Many of the caravans appeared to be workmen with vans on long term stays which meant plenty of comings and goings early in the morning.
Now, it isn't all bad. It's greatly situated. Hinchingbrooke park is just over the road, fantastic for walkers, dogs, children. There are also two good riverside walks, one direction takes you to Brampton village and the other to Godmanchester. Both beautiful, quiet walks. You are also walking distance to Huntingdon train station and town centre. The Mill 200yds away is a great place for a coffee during the day and a good meal at night.
To be honest, we wouldn't stay there again. It's in a great location but we weren't impressed with the site itself. We like to go to local sites to our business so we can be on call and frequent Ferry Meadows in Peterborough which is everything Willows is not.
The Willows Caravan Park, Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire
Superb waterside setting. Pitches are level, spacious and perfectly maintained. Toilet and shower blocks were immaculately clean, if a little tired. The management are probably amongst the most helpful and charming I have had the good fortune to come across in 10 years of motorhoming/caravanning. Watch out for the wonderful old cat they have - he's huge and a real character. Good walks in this area. Very picturesquemill restaurant nearby. Excellent fish and chip van visited on the FRiday evening we were there.
