Widemouth Bay is beautiful long open bay popular with families and surfers alike and a recent winner of the much coveted Blue Flag Award, for its pure water, clean coasts, safety and access for all. You can be sure Widemouth Bay has all the facilities you'll need for a family day at the beach.

The southern end of the beach becomes increasingly rocky which is great for rock pooling. At lower tides there is no shortage of marine life to be discovered. Amongst the rocks is the distinct landmark of Black Rock, a lone rock rising high above the surrounding beach. Widemouth Bay is also the home of casual beach bars and laid-back cafes and tearooms with beautiful views over the beach. The Break Beach has that perfect chilled vibe, serving locally sourced sustainable food, craft beers and cocktails as well as showcasing local live music.

Only a few miles away is the 2018 British Travel Awards, Best UK Coastal Resort winner, Bude. Bude is large enough to offer everything you would expect from a charming coastal town with eateries and pubs lining the main street and a good range of independently owned shops, yet it is still small enough to retain its unique charm. There really is something for everyone here with a diverse range of indoor and outdoor activities - from sports centres, soft play areas and stately homes to fishing, cycling, golf, surfing and other water sports. And with rugged coastal walks in every direction, Bude has plenty to suit all ages.

Widemouth Bay beach - Whether you love walking, surfing, cycling, boating, exploring or simply lazing about on the beach, Widemouth Bay has it all.
Crackington Haven – This small coastal village has a lovely shingle cove about 20 minutes drive from Widemouth Bay.
Port Isaac - A traditional fishing village with a vibrant local community in north Cornwall and home to the TV series Doc Martin starring Martin Clunes!
Bude Sea Pool - This semi-natural open air sea pool nestled under the cliffs at Summerleaze Beach has been open for more than 80 years.
Black Rock Beach - On the south side of Widemouth Bay, Blackrock beach has wild beauty in abundance. Look to the south and you’ll spot a prominent rocky outcrop which gives this beach its name.
Docton mill Gardens - 9-acre site set around the watercourse that runs through the garden, out to the spectacular Atlantic Coast.

Widemouth Bay is just one mile down the road with surf lessons, coastal walks and some lovely bars and restaurants. You can also visit Bude which is just 5 miles in the car, providing you with a bustling town centre, more beaches and the canal.
