Burford Caravan Club Site

Owner's description

An attractive and spacious site, with well landscaped pitching areas, you cant miss the site as it is opposite the Cotswold Wildlife Park, a popular family attraction in the area. With rhinos, zebras and leopards, children love it and the brass rubbing centre, beautiful gardens and narrow gauge railway make this a good value and special day out. Burford is a beautiful unspoilt Cotswold village with the warm, honey coloured stone buildings of the region. The ancient Customs House is now a museum, the main streets are lined with superb Tudor houses and it has a picturesque Norman church. On the Oxfordshire edge of the Cotswolds, you are close to the village of Bourton-on-the-Water with its Motor Museum, Model Railway and Pottery.

Site Review Burford Caravan Club

This pretty Caravan Club site is ideally situated for exploring the Cotswolds, located on the southern edge of the area and just 2 miles from the charming medieval town of Burford.
The entrance to the site is very welcoming with plenty of room for arrivals and a good sized visitor’s car park.
After booking in with the helpful wardens you are free to choose your own pitch. This may take some time as there are so many attractive corners of this 10 acre site to choose from you are spoilt for choice. The site is cleverly landscaped with trees, shrubs and flowers offering a wide choice of pitches from open grassy areas, parkland settings or a smart tree lined boulevard!

The toilet block and laundry facilities are spotless and there is a small shop in the office selling magazines, ice creams and basic provisions.
Children are well catered for with a play frame and a safe area for football and volleyball.
An added attraction for families is the Cotswold Wildlife Park which is literally across the road. Set in beautiful gardens and featuring a narrow gauge railway this is an ideal day out and a chance to meet, monkeys, meerkats, rhinos and other exotic animals and birds. I swear I could hear the big cats roaring in the still of the evening- not many sites can claim that!

Not far away are the traditional honey coloured stone towns and villages that the Cotswolds are famous for, Bourton on the water, the Slaughters and Stow on the Wold, to name but a few are all within easy reach and well worth visiting.

Don’t forget to visit Burford which is right on your doorstep. Nestling on the banks of the River Windrush, the town was built on the wealth of the wool trade. It has one of the finest parish churches in the country and the High Street lined with fine old houses and shop fronts little changed for hundreds of years is the perfect place to while away an afternoon.

This is a great site, there are so many places to visit and things to do, we stayed here for the first time this year and we will definitely be coming back.

An absolute gem that lived up to the details published. Helpful, freindly wardens, superbly maintained facilities and a generally beautiful area of the country to tour in. Being awakened by exotic creatures in the nearby Cotswold Wildlife Park enhanced the general experience. I would recommend it to anyone!
