Longleat Caravan and Motorhome Club Site

Warminster, Wiltshire

The only Club site where you can hear lions roar at night. Longleat is one of the Club's most beautiful parkland sites, in the middle of the lovely Longleat Estate, with miles of paths to walk amid the pleasures of woodland, bluebell, azalea and rhododendron. The site is generally quiet and peaceful outside school holiday time, although entertainment (some with music) and amenities at the park takes place nearby can be noisy at times. In your car you can visit the famous Safari Park, (the first to be opened outside Africa) the world's largest Maze and the Adventure Castle for the children are a short walk away. Cafes, pubs and restaurant are also within walking distance. if you want to go out for the day, both Bath and Bristol are reachable; the Roman, Regency and 2OthC Bath being a special favourite. Still famous as a spa, you can take the waters if you can stand the taste!

What a wonderful site. When we arrived there was plenty of choice of pitches, so we settled on one near the toilet block. luckily there was no noisy door banging! The site is within a few hundred yards of the entrance to Longleat safari park- some of the facilities/areas can be accessed without buying a park ticket, so the 1st afternoon we walked around, finding our bearings. The next day, with ticket, we took the Safari bus around- super view from upstairs & you can even have the window open! Lots to do in the area too- we had a day at a National trust property nearby. Would definitely return to this site.

This has to be one of the best approaches to a CC site. Once waved through the barrier control at Longleat the splendour of Longleat House and Estate opens up before your eyes. It is quite a feeling towing your outfit past the front door of Longleat House.

The site is located immediately adjacent to the attractions Longleat has to offer and lies alongside the lake where they keep the Sealions which you can clearly hear from the site.

A well appointed CC site, with 3 toilet blocks, set amongst the Oaks and a reception that sells a bit more than the norm. All the amenities are kept to a very high standard by the busy team of wardens, and on a full site in October they never struggled to cope. TV reception is poor and the surrounding Oaks make getting a satellite signal pretty difficult, TV hook ups are however provided on the pitches (they sell the leads in reception if you don’t have one).

The majority of the pitches are hard standing, and only pitches of this type are used early or late in the season, so rock pegs are required.

For food shopping and fuel Asda is only a few miles away on the outskirts of Frome. The town of Frome itself has an Argos, Woolies, Boots and WH Smith’s.

Longleat has so much to offer you feel little need to leave the estate, everything is within walking distance, and if you don’t fancy taking the car through the Safari, the Safari bus stop is just outside the site entrance.

A superb club site set in impressive surroundings and well cared for by the team of Wardens. Little wonder it’s nearly always booked up.

Longleat Caravan Club Site, Warminster, Wiltshire

We spent 5 nights here over the rather bitter cold early Easter weekend.

A Caravan Club site. Members and non members welcome.

An excellent site set amongst trees and located in the mature and manicured grounds of Longleat Estate, just a short 10 minute walk to the Longleat House and attractions and ½ mile drive from the entrance to the Safari Park.

Good access roads to and on site.

A friendly and helpful reception by the dedicated Caravan Club Wardens.

A very well kept and very clean site with good sized hard standings and some grass pitches, all mainly level with 16 amp EHU and TV hook up points.

Usual top class Caravan Club amenities and standards.

Small children's play area on site. Walks across the Estate with easy access from site. Excellent fishing lakes on site a short walk away or a 10 min drive around the Estate to the fisherman's only car park.

Plenty to do on and off site making this an excellent choice for long holiday stays and short breaks for couple and families alike.

Nearest off site pub / restaurant 1 mile, Frome town centre and main shopping, fuel station etc., approx 4 miles away, Cheddar Gorge 20 miles, Wells 20 miles, Stonehenge 20 miles, Wookey Hole 20 miles, Brean Sands and Weston Super Mare 38 miles (all mileages approx.).

I highly recommend this site.

What can I say - one of the most attractive sites we've ever stayed on, and the kids' all time favourite.

Situated in the Lonleat estate, within short walking distance of the house and wild life park and maze etc. Great for evening walks when the tourists have gone home.

A bit spooky walking to the toilet block after dark and hearing the lions roar nearby. Hope those fences are high enough!
