York Beechwood Grange Caravan and Motorhome Club Site

York, North Yorkshire

York Beechwood Grange Caravan Club Site is open from late March until early January, and is one of the most popular holiday parks in Yorkshire. Formerly just called Beechwood Grange, the park is a family and pet friendly campsite, with 112 pitches in total suitable for motorhomes and touring caravans. 100 of the pitches are hardstandings with electric hook-ups and are positioned suitably far apart or between sections of hedgerow to offer a good level of privacy for all guests. There is a great deal of space on the site for younger members of the family to run around in, as well as a specified dog walking area.

On-site facilities include a toilet block, laundry facilities, waste disposal facilities, and Wi-Fi for guests who want to stay connected with the wider world during their stay. If you’re already a member of The Caravan Club you’ll already know the high standards of cleanliness and types of facilities you can expect on Club sites.

Once you’ve pitched up, you won’t necessarily need to drive again until you leave. This is because within one mile of the site, you will find public transport than can get you to York and the wider area surrounding York Beechwood Grange Caravan Club Site. The nearest park and ride location, Monks Cross, for getting into York is also close to the park, while energetic guests are able to take a scenic cycle into the city centre if they wish to do so.

Also at Monks Cross, you will find a range of shopping outlets, with supermarkets and a large retail park to explore, and there are numerous places to pick up something to eat and drink in this area, too. There is also a Toby Carvery restaurant on the opposite side of the roundabout from the road leading to and from this Caravan Club campsite.

Guests who decide to head into York won’t be disappointed with what they find, no matter if they’ve travelled to the city to explore the history and heritage of the place or want to discover the new modern developments and outlets in the city.

History lovers really are spoiled for choice in York. Whether it is the Jorvik Viking Centre, the National Railway Museum, or the scary yet thrilling York Dungeon, there are plenty of sights to see and tourist attractions to visit in York, to appeal to everyone. Those more in tune with modern life will find a brilliant selection of shops, bars, and restaurants in the city, too.

If you’re looking to explore the surrounding area but want some alternatives to York, you’ll be pleased to discover there is much to do elsewhere. Take a cruise along the Ouse, discover Rievaulx Abbey and Ryedale's market towns or simply escape to the Moors, the Dales and Bronte country.

The North York Moors is not far from here and is wonderful for those that love the outdoors; climbing, horse riding, cycling and many more activities are available here for all ages.

The Ryedale region of Yorkshire is popular for its market towns and quaint countryside villages. Guests looking for the coast can head east and enjoy the brilliant seaside towns on the coastline and the awe inspiring views out across the North Sea.

Foodies should head to Malton – known as the food capital of the county of Yorkshire – while those looking for an adrenaline rush can enjoy locations such as Flamingo Land and Lightwater Valley.

This is a typical Caravan Club site. Flat with plenty of grass well laid out with a wide variety of pitch types but no serviced pitches. There is the usual large toilet block a large play area and dog walk. Access is easy just off the A64 in a rural area just outside the city with the road in coming through a stud farm. Do beware of the speed hump though just after the stud farm.
The Park and ride service into York is just down the road with a large shopping development two supermarkets with cheap petrol and some chain eateries. If you are touring rather than just visiting the city centre this is an excellent choice although for the city centre itself the clubs Rowntree Park site is better placed but not as pleasant.
Well worth considering if you want a site near York.

Our recent stay at Beechwood was our second visit to the site and we had a lovely time. It was my husband's birthday so we planned a day out in York and a meal at a lovely restaurant in the evening. We used the park and ride to get into town which is conveniently located at Monks Cross shopping centre. It only takes about 10 minutes to drive into the city in the evening though. The toilet blocks are up to the usual caravan club standard - lovely and clean and most importantly in this weather - warm!! We will most definitely be going back to Beechwood in the future.

A well kept park in a handy location just off the York ring road and near to the Monks cross park and ride for quick and convenient access to York, but also within easy reach of the Yorkshire moors and the East coast.
The park itself has 115 mainly hard standing pitches that are spacious to say the least, toilet and shower block are clean and tidy and a baby and toddler room, laundry and Veg prep area are also available. A small information room gives ideas for local places to visit.or for information on eating out etc.
There is a large dog walk area on site and dogs are welcome although the stables next door mean some restrictions on dogs are in place.
Also on site there is a children's play area of a good standard.
Whilst we were there a fish and chip van visited the site a couple of times a week.
All in all a good place to stay, with plenty to interest all ages in York and the surrounding area.

We have been here a number of times as an alternative to Rowntree Park( always booked up). There are the usual excellent toilet/shower facilities at a caravan club site. There is a large playing field, a large dog walk area, and a play area. The pitches are large and are hard standing. York is minutes away by park and ride and there is a large Asda nearby. A great base for exploring this part of the world or if youv'e seen it all before great to just relax.
