Scotland is famous for its Whisky and Royal Deeside is no exception. Royal Lochnagar distillery is situated next to Balmoral castle and offers guided tours. The Whisky Trail is not far away, featuring many of the great Speyside Malt Whisky Distilleries.

Braemar is located in stunning Royal Deeside in the Cairngorms National Park. Braemar Caravan Park is operated by Invercauld Estate, and is ideally situated for a range of activities.

Braemar is surrounded by mountains, moorland, rivers and ancient pinewoods. Whether you would like to tackle some challenging mountain walks, or some lower level scenic strolls, the possibilities are endless.
Invercauld Estate alone has 12 Munros and 8 Corbetts, and neighbouring Balmoral Estate and Mar Lodge Estate also have many mountains and lochs which are easily accessible.

Braemar and the surrounding area is fantastic for Cycling and mountain biking.

The Cairngorms National Park is home to some iconic, charismatic wildlife, including Red Squirrels, Red and Roe Deer, Mountain Hare, Grouse, Golden Eagles and much more. It is also botanically diverse with many different species of plants and flowers which grow in the alpine conditions that many other plants could not survive in.

The River Dee is considered one of the greatest Salmon rivers in Scotland, and there are many lochs where Trout fishing is possible.

Braemar has an 18-hole golf course, a bowling green and (when its really cold) a curling rink.

Glenshee Ski Centre is close by. The Caravan park has a Boot room, drying room and Ski lockers ready to help dry you off and warm you up after a day on the slopes.

Stopped at this site in our motor home, the wardens Jackie and Rick made us welcome, explained the site to us, one toilet block was closed for the winter. These two wardens were running the site by themselves, showers and facilities were spotless, but need modernising! they were both friendly and helpful nothing too much trouble. Not just with us but others on the site, my wife and I will go back just to see them again. The managers whom were away must be very proud of them. The views are fantastic its a lovely peaceful site.

Toilets disgusting won't go into detail! Not sure when last cleaned! On arrival, cream cotton strewn all over our pitch which we had to tidy before setting up awning for dogs, called as arrived at 6:10 and was questioned about whether or not we were ringing the bell rather than just answer the door! Have just called to ask for rest of stays money back and will be away somewhere else today...needless to say definitely not be back. Such a let down as just came from a beatiful caravan club site! Update- spoke to the rudest guy in reception, no refunds given- not even willing to address our concerns!! No customer service skills at all, Beware!

Excellent location for ski-ing, scenic walks and glimpses of wild deer on the hills. Braemar has a village store, chemist, public houses. Main shopping in Blair Gowrie/Huntley. Site facilities good, but pipes often frozen in winter months. Good drying room on site. Had a seasonal pitch for three months 2009 - only site I have been on where warden had a negative attitude.
