This is an excellent site with great facilities. The toilets are always immaculate with ample hot water. We visit this site at least once a year as its a firm favourite of the family. Its a large site with a good play area for the children. Wardens are always friendly and are around t offer assistance if required.

Meathop Fell is set about three miles from Grange over Sands
The site is excellent the staff are friendly the toilet block is what you expect from the caravan club (very clean & well maintained) the play area is also very good.
The television reception in the area is very poor but each bollard has an aerial socket so it’s worth taking a good length of Aerial cable (Or you can buy the cable on site) if you normally use satellite T.V. equipment my advice is don’t bother even taking it as only about half a dozen pitches on site are any good for receiving a signal as very tall trees surround the site.
The down side to this site is you have to travel to see anything as it is set in the middle of nowhere & the nearest descent sized supermarket we could find was in Kendal although Kendal is well worth a visit
Would we visit this site again? yes

We had only booked in to Meathop Fell for four nights originally but lost our cat on the last morning of our visit. It was a great excuse to come back to this site after we had taken our new caravan back to Glossop for a service. It is an lovely site with very hospitable wardens. The toilet block was always immaculate and the site is very well laid out with a lower section surrounded by trees which is always the first area to be occupied by new arrivals. The information centre complete with phone box was ideal for information on the beautiful Lake District area. When we returned from Glossop we couldn't get on to the same site but the wardens said they would look out for the cat. I also left a dish of food at our previous caravan neighbours' site who said they would look out for him (he was a retired CID inspector) so I thought if anyone will find him he will and sure enough he did. He turned up that same night and walked back home with us as if nothing had happended. The wardens even cancelled our booking for Edinburgh and we had another lovely four nights at Meathop Fell complete with cat who was kept in a cage on the morning of our second attempt at departure.
