Gibraltar Farm Campsite

This is a family run campsite found on a working farm close to the Lancashire coast, within the Arnside and Silverdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and giving visitors views across Morecambe Bay. The park welcomes guests with motorhomes, touring caravans and tents, with a separate field for tent camping guests, which is within a vast area of ancient woodland.

Both hardstanding and grass pitches are available at Gibraltar Farm Campsite, while a number of electric hook-ups are available for those staying in motorhomes or touring caravans. There's also a shower and toilet block which everyone has access to.

The camping section of Gibraltar Farm Campsite combines open grasslands and the ancient woodland that forms the camping area to great effect, allowing guests to relax in the beautiful surroundings and enjoy picturesque walks across the site.

This is a lovely place to stay if you simply want to enjoy the natural environment. The rest of the AONB spreads out for miles and includes National Trust properties and Natural England sites, great for days out. From the park, stunning views across the coast can also be enjoyed, with miles of coastal paths making it easy to walk to a number of coastal locations in the area.

Leighton Moss Nature Reserve is about a 30-minute walk or a five-minute drive from Gibraltar Farm Campsite, and is a very popular RSPB reserve. The site is renowned and attracts visitors from across the country for its collection of rare birds. Trowbarrow Quarry Nature Reserve is also a short drive from this park.

Guests that enjoy fishing can enjoy doing so in the sea, with direct access available from the campsite, although there are plenty of streams and rivers in the surrounding area where tourists can find a spot to relax with their fishing rod. There is also a golf course a short distance from the site, which offers a great round of golf and a beautiful club house, as well as the chance to take in the exceptional views of the surrounding area.

The nearest village is Silverdale, about a mile from this campsite. With a post office and a small supermarket, as well as The Silverdale Hotel, a family friendly pub, you can come here to top up on your everyday essentials and maybe to enjoy time away from the kitchen and the washing up on your motorhome, camping and caravan holidays. The village also has a railway station, so if you'd like to leave your car or motorhome on site and explore the region using public transport, you can do that, however the M6 is easy to access and a convenient way of getting places quickly.

The Yorkshire Dales National Park, the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the Lake District National Park and the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty are all easy to access from Gibraltar Farm Campsite, meaning that if you choose to pitch here, the great outdoors really is on your doorstep, just waiting to be explored. Whether you love walking holidays, or cycling, mountain biking, horse riding, climbing or fell running are more your thing, there are many different ways to see the area.
