If you're a fan of pub grub on your caravan holidays, then The Anvil Inn might be the perfect place for you to pitch for the night.

Set next to the pub from which it takes its name, The Anvil Inn in Norfolk is a CL (certified location), meaning it can accommodate up to five caravans or motorhomes at a time. It is open all year round and while the facilities are basic, they're more than sufficient, with fresh water and sanitary/dry waste disposal available on site, and electric hook-ups available, if bought from the pub.

This is a quiet, secluded place to pitch your caravan or motorhome in a rural location, screened from the road. Visitors are allowed to bring their dogs, so long as they are kept on a lead at all times.

And, of course, being next to a pub means there's tasty food on hand. The Anvil Inn serves food every day, Monday to Friday, from noon until 2.30pm and again in the evening from 6pm until 9.30pm – although it is worth noting that from September until May, the pub is closed on Mondays, however the camping and caravanning area remains open for pre bookings. The pub serves a great many real ales and locally sourced meat as part of its menu. It also has a busy live music programme, meaning there is plenty to keep you entertained if you choose to pitch your caravan or motorhome here.

The Anvil Inn is in Norfolk, less than 10 miles outside the historic market town of King's Lynn. The famous royal Sandringham Estate is just a 10- or 15-minute drive away, and there are plenty of other places to visit and things to do on your motorhome and caravan holidays in Norfolk.

It will take you around half an hour to drive to Hunstanton, this seaside town one of the few places on the east coast in England where you can see the sun set over the sea. In fact, the Norfolk coastline has a great deal to offer holidaymakers. A collection of nature reserves sit on the north Norfolk coast (Holme Dunes National Nature Reserve, Scolt Head Island National Nature Reserve, Holkham National Nature Reserve and Blakeney National Nature Reserve), the North Norfolk Heritage Coast a great destination for wildlife watching and getting back to nature, as well as being recognised as an area of outstanding natural beauty.

And there's even more. You could go birdwatching and see seals at Wells-next-the-Sea, or venture a little further afield and drive an hour or so to the seaside town of Sheringham. While there you could visit the National Trust owned Sheringham Park and Sheringham Hall that sits at its centre, or another nearby National Trust property, the 17th century Felbrigg Hall.

Alternatively, the pretty market town of Holt is only about a 45-minute drive up the A148 from this campsite. You could even stop off at Fakenham en route, where you could enjoy a day at the races.

So if you're looking for a secluded and simple rural retreat on your motorhome and caravan holidays in Norfolk, pitch at The Anvil Inn.
