Owner's description

For those who want the best of both worlds, combine the peace and tranquillity of the country with the thrill and excitement of central London.

Situated just a short drive from both the River Lee Country Park with its beautiful scenery and fascinating wildlife, and Epping Forest, which has excellent picnic facilities and some wonderful walks including a woodland walk to Gunpowder Park Country Park and the brand new Lee Valley White Water Centre (home to the London 2012 Canoe Slalom events). There are some excellent facilities on the site, including a shop and children's play area. Pets are welcome provided that they are kept under control and are not left unattended.

The lower Lea Valley is dominated by two huge storage reservoirs, namely the King George V and William Girling Reservoirs. They are known together as the Chingford Reservoirs and are owned by Thames Water. This site has been designated a S.S.S.I. due to the bird populations which the Reservoirs support. Public access is only allowed to the KING George V Reservoir (North and South basin) and a permit must be obtained from Thames Water.

We have just come back from a break staying at Lee valley park with our Conway folding camper. On arrival we were shown to our pitch which was large and flat ,the layout is great with plenty of space ,being bank holiday the site was very busy but all areas including showers and toilets and washing up area where kept clean. The best thing is that the campsite is the turn around point for the bus to London which take about 30 mins to the underground then another 20 mins into central London all for £14.00 for a family of four a great place to stay for a cheap week visiting the capital ,will be back.
