we have visited this site alot in the past couple of years. it is a friendly welcoming site with everything you need. the toilet and shower blocks are spotless although the showers could do with updating (more powerfull). but the family bathrooms are fantastic when you have young children. all in all a great place to visit with a bar on site, a shop and food available for more stress free tea times. if i have to choose some negatives about this site it would be that it can get very busy in peak season so if you are wanting a more relaxed time this would not be our first choice. the t.v reception is poor but should be better in 2012 and although there are security cameras alot of the public come and go so not 100% safe and secure.
: March in 2011Myself and my family visited this site for a 10 day visit with our tourer, we found the park it self to be beautifully maintained with always someone somewhere working on tidying up the grassed or shrubbed area`s. Toilet facilities very clean and the added bonus of bath`s which our two young boys enjoyed.
The bar area was excellent for meals and the odd tipple while the location of the soft play allowed you to relax while still being able you keep an eye on the kids.
All staff around the park were extermely friendly and helpful and would take time to speak to you or answer any queries you may have from places to visit or even on the types of flowers and shrubs in the gardens.
Overall a 5 star service from a deserving 5 star park and would gladly recommend this site to anyone considering a break in the area.

We are a family with a 4 year old daughter, we've just returned from a very enjoyable weekend at Ord House. It was our first experienc e of camping and we picked a good site to try it out. The site is very clean and tidy, the toilet blocks are very clean with plenty of hot water and the staff are very helpful. Our pitch was right next to the playground, great during the day but difficult to get my daughter to sleep before 10pm! These this happen though. A five star campsite and well recommended.
Been to many campsites around the u.k (including caravan & camping club sites)this has got to be the cleanest & most respected campsite i have ever camped at.
The toilet block is exceptionally clean, clean enough to eat out of! The WHOLE site trimmed to perfection. from the grass to the trees & shrubs.
recycling facitlities onsite too.
Staff are very helpful with information on places to go & how to get there.
not one complaint.
100% reccomended!!

the orchard is the best place for tourer's if u can get in book in advance to avoid disappointment ...... the toilet's are first class clean tidy radio playing in them, shower room's plenty room to move around in hot water also a bath as well...... the staff are very friendly and helpful ......the only down side was there was no shop on site...planing on going back this year again with the kid's
My family and I started going to Ord in 2003 with an old tourer, we found the park to be very clean, with curteous friendly staff and are still there to date, having upgraded to a static van. Ord House is a family friendly site, the owners (Billy & Julie) are very nice as are the staff. the park is well kept and certainly deserves all of its awards, the washrooms are always kept spotless(thanks Viv), the clubhouse is fab (we frequent it regularly) and we have made many friends some of whom will be lifelong friends.
All in all a child friendly welcoming park well worth a visit or longer stay. I give this park a 5* rating but would like to give it 10.
Having visited Ord House on many occasions. The standards have always been superb, staff are very welcoming and friendly. pitches fully serviced with 16 amps and spacious and within easy reach of the facilities. The toilet facilities are spotless, warm and cater for all our requirements. Club serves great great meals and is very comfotable and friendly. All in all our stays at Ord have been excellent and we have met some wonderful people and would reccommend highly to anyone touring in the area.

A great welcome to a park of fine standing. Wishing all the best to the new owner and staff who must keep up the best tradition of the park to return again as we have for the last 15 years....
all the best!

As close to the Scottish border as you can get, this site is in the grounds of an 18th-century manor house. The house itself is home to the site’s bar, restaurant and family room, which has a ball pool and soft play area. There is also a quiet, child-free lounge with its more relaxed atmosphere, and a well-stocked caravan accessories shop.

Close to the Scottish border, Ord House is one of England’s most northerly parks, near the historic town of Berwick-upon-Tweed. The approach is easy, with clear signposts leading drivers from the A1 through the small village of East Ord.

On site, there is a well-stocked accessory shop, while for everyday provisions, the small grocery store and post office are adjacent to the entrance to Ord House. You’ll find a pub in East Ord.
This is a very grand park,
with well-spaced pitches and beautiful, mature, trees which add a lot of character to the location. Anyone who stays here will enjoy the beautiful countryside from what is a very comfortable site.
* 1.5 miles to The Ramparts in Berwick-upon-Tweed. Here, you will find a remarkably complete system
of medieval fortifications with gateways, curtain walls and projecting bastions.

One of England’s most northerly caravan sites, Ord House is clearly signposted from the A1 through the small village of East Ord. The imposing manor house near reception houses a family room with a soft play area and other facilities. There is also
a caravan and camping accessory shop.
Many of the well-spaced pitches have views of the manor house and other areas. It’s not far from the A1, but there is no road noise. A small grocery store and post office are nearby, and there is a pub in East Ord. Berwick-upon-Tweed has a shopping centre and a twice-weekly market. Sea fishing trips depart from Berwick harbour.

The most distinguishing feature of this large and well-landscaped site is the striking manor house, which is near the main reception close to the entrance. This site is popular with families, but those without children will enjoy using it as a base outside the school holidays for exploring the Borders fine castles and miles of unspoilt beaches.
Nearby Berwick-upon-Tweed has a good shopping centre and a twice-weekly market, and is the perfect point from which to pop across the border to Scotland. If you want to go fishing you can take sea fishing trips from Berwick harbour.

And there's plenty to do here, too. The ancient town of Berwick-upon-Tweed is just three miles away, and is famous for having changed hands 13 times between England and Scotland. Nowadays it has a market twice a week, as well as busy shops for all your needs. Also not far from the site are some beautiful Northumbrian beaches, or you can head north to visit the stunning countryside of the Scottish Borders, which inspired writers such as Sir Walter Scott and John Buchan.

Ord House Country Park lies just one mile from the Scottish border, a short drive from the historic market town of Berwick-upon-Tweed. The 40-acre site houses 75 touring and tent pitches in grounds whose imaginative layout means the site always feels pleasantly spacious.
The wide lawns are kept well mown, whilst colourful flowerbeds and shrubs are lovingly cared for all year round. Ord House itself, an 18th century mansion, has been converted to house a family bar and restaurant, as well as a shop well-stocked with camping and caravanning supplies.
The pitches, all of which have electricity (10A), are grouped in small sections, and each is shaded by hedges or trees. Nineteen pitches stand within a walled garden, each divided from the other by flowers and camomile lawns. Both hardstanding and grass pitches are available. There are a few pitches near the park gates, which are ideal for wheelchair users. In fact, the whole site is wheelchair friendly, with access to the mansion house and gardens. The site caters well for the whole family, with activities for children of all ages.
Ord House also provides a perfect base to explore the Northumbrian coastline and visit the castles of Bamburgh and Alnwick, Lindisfarne monastery, and take a boat trip to the Farne Islands for seal and puffin spotting.
