A brilliant 10 day hol at Hendra with extended family. What a great place! Two of our families had a top of the range caravan..superb, and three families had budget range and we struggled to find the difference between them, apart from size and content! Everywhere is immaculate, so clean and the staff are sooo freindly. Our kids couldn't get enough of the kids club and the entertainment was great too, very funny comedian. Family favourites was the indoor pools, couldn't get them out of there, the train and the club, and pizzas from the pizza cafe! Town and beaches very close, we loved Dairyland and the Zoo both nearby, and Fistral beach surfing even though its was a bit cold! We've booked for next year and my sister has booked again for this July. Thoughly recommended park, fantastic value for money, genuinely family orientated (no groups of noisy singles!), and has everything you'd need.

Newquay, where Hendra Holiday Park is located, is known as the surf capital of Britain, but it’s also a very popular place for family holidays.
The town has plenty of shops, restaurants and gardens, which make it a great place to explore. Or your family could just relax on its safe, sandy beach. This stretch of the Cornish coast is a great place to get involved in outdoor activities. Learn to surf or abseil, spend a day coasteering, or find a quiet place to go fishing. There are also some good golf courses in the area.
If you tire of the attractions on the coast, head inland for a day. The Eden Project is within easy reach. After walking through the extraordinary biodomes admiring the thousands of plants, from
all around the world, you can join in storytelling and workshops.
Or try Truro, which has Georgian houses, a triple-spired cathedral and a good museum on Cornwall’s long history.
All these activities, so close at hand, make Hendra a great base for family holidays. If you want to leave the car behind, you can catch
a bus from outside the site’s reception into Newquay.
You won’t need to leave the site to find entertainment though. Facilities on site include indoor and outdoor heated pools with flumes, outdoor play areas, Henry Hippo’s children’s club, a family arcade with ten-pin bowling and a club with good entertainment. Parents who want to relax will enjoy the pub, which overlooks the pool area. The on-site bars and restaurants all serve a good range of food and drink.
The site has both grass and hardstanding
pitches spread over 12 fields. Numerous water points are located among the pitches. There are also some fully serviced pitches. Dogs are not allowed on all pitches, so be sure to mention them when you book.
The washrooms are centrally located and the hot showers are free. Washing-up facilities are also provided on site.

Practical Caravans top 100 Parks Awards 2004
This park is just half an hour’s walk from the centre of Newquay and its many attractions. Not that you actually need to set foot outside the site, that is. Hendra has what must have one of the biggest non-municipal indoor leisure pools in the country. And outside is another lovely pool area, all curves and terraces and shimmering water.
At right angles to the pools is a three-bar complex comprising a normal bar, a sports bar, and the gigantic upstairs bar which has a club licence. Further up the slope there’s a fully-stocked supermarket, a games arcade, and a little two-lane mini-bowling alley, so plenty to keep adults and children entertained. The park itself is beautifully landscaped, not only with the usual flowerbeds and hanging baskets, but also with lots tropical trees and shrubs. This is, after all, Cornwall – Britain’s Florida.
Despite its impressive size, Hendra is a family-owned and run site. The attitude of staff reflects this – they are all friendly, helpful, and proud both of the park and the service they offer. Hendra exists in a state of perpetual renewal. Facilities, already excellent, are constantly being upgraded, though the sanitary amenities are always kept in an immaculate state. The winter is almost as busy as the summer. The pitches are accessed by smooth tarmac rounds, and all are roomy. Only a handful require the use of levelling blocks.

Hendra exists in a state of perpetual renewal. Sanitary amenities are kept immaculately clean, and all facilities, already excellent, are often upgraded. For example, in addition to its full-service super pitches, it is introducing the even larger ‘super pitch 2’, with awning pads. The pitches are reached via smooth, Tarmac roads, and all are roomy. Only a handful require the use of levelling blocks.
