Avoid this site at all costs. The site is unkempt and under managed. Some of the static owners allow the dogs to roam freely and toilet freely without cleaning up. Toilet and shower facilities were supposedly brand new, however because the key system for tourers and motorhomes was not enforced, the facilities were used by children frequenting the park area and were not in a hygienic state... toilet roll and smeared faeces on the showers was noted in both ladies and gents facilities. On the plus side, very friendly static owners and the site did quieten down at night so no sleepless nights as feared at the start. We "endured" our 7 nights, but will not be back...sorry.
: April in 2011this was our first time staying in this caravan park its quite dear to stay its now up to £20 per night an and additional £3 for an awning ! this is a disgrace as u ave to bring you own toilet roll for the toilets and buy a key £5 to use the facilitys the showers have 1 good point they are warm at least but i hung all my clothes on the hook provided on the back of the door and stepped in turned n the shower and before i knew it my shoes that was on the floor at the door was soaked along with my clothes! the water doesnt drain down the drains provided for the shower it floods all over the toilet floors! its horrible and i hated it the whole time i was there! the play park was filfy dirty and there was no atmosphere at all.it just wasnt like camping at all.....back to the great old castlewellan forest park!! beats every camp site by far!!
: July in 2010hi i stayed at this park this weekend myself my wife and 5 children. This park has some previous bad reviews but this was under a different owner. It has a new warden who is very helpful and friendly. This park has crazy golf, swings and a small arcade and pool room. This site is very cheap at 14.50 a night going up to 16.50 a night in high season and is well worth the money. We all loved it. It is within walking distance of newcastle itself. All touring pitches have electric and water supply. The other people on the pitches were all very friendly as so where static owners. Will be back to this site again and would recomened it to anyone.
