We have just returned from our first visit to holgates holiday park. I was very impressed with all the facilities. I have been to other sites that have 5 stars but holgates deserve theirs, the toilets were spotless at all times, the pool changing rooms were the same. My granddaughter 4 and grandson 2 both loved the pool, my only complaint is that the pool could of being a bit warmer, but thats my personal choice. The surroundins were outstanding and the pitches were well thought out and we liked the fact that you could chose your own and not allocated one. We are planning on returning soon and would recommend this site if you like stunning surroundings and peace and quite.

This is a very nice site, very professionally run, the loo's and shower blocks where immaculate and well thought out. The pool area and cafe etc. were very pleasant although if you do not have children you might find it a bit noisy during the day time.
We have a 2 year old which can make touring hard work but this site, the staff and the amenities at this site made for a very enjoyable stay for all of us.
Unlike a number of sites we have stayed at here ALL the staff were friendly, helpful and genuinely seemed to want to make sure we enjoyed our stay. We will defiantly be going back

What a wonderful site. Next to the coast, surrounded by glorious countryside, I wish I'd discovered this part of the North West years ago - you can still be in the lakes in about 30 minutes but you're away from the crowds. Silverdale is a gorgeous little village that you can walk to with a proper butcher and greengrocer as well as nice pubs and a restaurant.
We were lucky, we had good weather but if we hadn't we would have been happy to spend quite a lot of time in the immaculate pool and spa centre - they had really lovely changing rooms, lifeguards were constantly on duty and it wasn't crowded.
I was thrilled to be able to get a decent latte in the cafe and my husband enjoyed sampling the local beers. We were able to let the children just go off and explore which they loved, the site feels very safe and there's an indoor play area as well. The other people that we met staying there were all very nice. As other people have said - you certainly get what you pay for.

A clean well maintained site, when the weather was good we went walking, when it rained we relaxed in the spa centre, we enjoyed the adults only hour in the pool area. The pitches all have their own tap , waste water drain & electric, so no need to carry water. The pitches are on stone chips which was very noisy on sunday morning when many people were packing up & had to keep walking around their units. Private sink units in the toilet blocks were good. shop fairly well stocked, Number plate recognition at the barrier so no keys needed. One of the more expensive sites but I can see why they charge more as this is a high class site, but still take your torch as the lighting is not very good at night time.

Sited in a nice part of Lancashire. Beautiful surroundings. Pitches on gravel as opposed to hard standings. All pitches a long way from reception/entertainment. Bar area is attached to pool, reminded me of a local pool complex. No entertainment. No relaxing area. Very expensive for what you get. Much better value on numerous sites within Lancashire and Cumbria. Would not recommend.

Located just off the M6, Holgates is a good place to stay for visiting
both the Lake District and Lancaster. The pretty villages of Arnside
and Silverdale are very close, as is the RSPB’s Leighton Moss bird
sanctuary. All pitches are hardstanding, with electric hook-up and TV
aerial points. The site has washrooms,
a launderette and a well-stocked supermarket. For on-site activities, there are adventure playgrounds, a pool and gym, a restaurant and bar, a games room, a soft-play area and a pitch-and-putt course.

Holgates caters to the sort
of caravanner who wants both easy access to stunning countryside and top-drawer facilities on-site.
The site’s leisure centre will keep a family occupied with its wide range of facilities. Among them are the swimming pool,
a bar/restaurant, a games room,
a soft-play area, a well-stocked mini-market and a gym. There are also a well-maintained sun deck and a pitch-and-putt course.
Overlooking Morecambe Bay, this site is set across acres of grassy slopes shaded by plentiful oak and silver-birch trees. Moreover, the site is easy to get to, located only eight miles from the M6.
Lancaster and the Lake District are both within driving distance, and closer to hand are the pretty villages of Arnside and Silverdale, two miles in either direction. Holgates has been family-run site for almost 50 years, and it shows in the level of commitment and the close ties between staff and management. Everyone involved with the site takes pride in its achievements.

Holgates Caravan Park provides the best of both worlds. Not only do you have a superb range of leisure facilities at your disposal, but you can also get out and explore the beautiful countryside right your doorstep.
The site’s leisure centre will keep a whole family occupied for days. There is a swimming pool, a bar/restaurant, a soft
play area, a games room,
a well-stocked mini-market and
a gym. And a well-maintained sun terrace overlooks the neat pitch-and-putt course.

The only decision you’ll face if you stay at Holgates Caravan Park is how much time to devote to enjoying the superb range of on-site facilities, and how much to spend exploring the lovely countryside.
Holgates has been a family-owned site for nearly half a century. And it shows. Staff and management are on first-name terms, and just everyone involved in running the site takes a pride in its achievements.
Holgates Caravan Park lies eight miles west of the M6, overlooking Morecambe Bay. It rises up a gentle hillside – touring pitches are to the left, and all are hardstanding, with water and drainage. Acres of turf, oak and silver birch, protected by rows of boulders, separate your slot from the approach roads. The pitches, the two toilet blocks and the children’s play areas are all pristine. Security is excellent – you’ll get a swipe card for the barriers when you sign in.
The leisure centre at the entrance to the site is immaculate. There is a superb pool, bar/restaurant, soft play area, games room, well-stocked mini-market and gym.
And a well-kept terrace overlooks the neat pitch-and-putt course.
Holgates is situated halfway between Lancashire and Cumbria, both of which offer plenty of places to visit, from Lancaster to the Lake District. But if you don’t want to stray far from this excellent site, pop over to bustling Arnside or beautiful Silverdale, two miles in either direction, both of which have a nice village feel. From Silverdale, designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, you can visit the Leighton Moss Nature Reserve, which is home to over 255 species of bird.

Holgates Caravan Park is set in an area of outstanding natural beauty and provides an excellent spot for exploring the Lancashire coast. Just ten minutes from the motorway, it is cleverly hidden from the outside world by trees and natural landscaping.
The site retains an uncrowded air and its 70 pitches are all in excellent condition. These are laid either side off a smooth, wide road, and have individual water taps, waste drains, 16A electrics and a TV booster system. There are also two well-equipped toilet blocks (one with a disabled shower room, that merge into the rocky landscape as they are constructed of local stone.
Holgates is best suited to people who are looking for peace and quiet. There are ample walks on and off site, and the South Lakes and Morecambe Estuary are within easy reach. Should you need to recuperate after your day’s exertions the site boasts a pool complex that has a steam room, sauna and spa. A gym will also be completed in the summer.
Children also have plenty to do. There are two outdoor adventure play areas that have seats for supervising adults, and an indoor soft play room for toddlers. Teenagers have not been forgotten, either, and there is a small amusement arcade and a football pitch with goalposts. Adults can take advantage of Holgates’ bar and restaurant, which serves a good balance of food to suit all manner of tastes, ages and bank balances. A well-stocked wine and beer cellar adds to the enjoyment.
And to cap it all the site has an extremely well-equipped shop if you run out of supplies, as well as a laundry. The two washing blocks are also in excellent condition and have disabled access and baby-care facilities.
Holgates is also just a short hop from the seaside town of Morecombe, and is just a quick drive from the Lake District.
