Practical Motorhome Independent Site Reviews
The sea views from this site are amazing and probably worth the site fees on their own. Add to that the fact that it is only a 15-minute walk to the centre of the smallest city in Britain and you can see why the site is so popular.
The site sits above a sandy beach, which has rock pools and caves. And in high season the farm next door has a delightful shop selling its produce.
In peak season the main field is reserved for touring caravans and motorhomes have to make do with the lower field, among the tents.
Thankfully, the lower field has much better views and there is 16A electric hook-up here, too.
It also costs a little less, so it’s worth choosing anyway.
Both shower facilities were good, and modern, and one of them even had a small bath to provide a little homely luxury.
There’s also a dedicated motorhome service point, which makes filling the water tank and emptying the toilet really easy.

Practical Caravan Top Sites for Islands June 200
If getting away from it all is what you look for in a holiday, this is the place to come. Caerfai Bay is in the far west of Wales, around two miles from the south-west tip.
The views from this site are worth the admission fee alone. Camping is arranged over the site’s three open fields and all have magnificent vistas of cliffs and Irish Sea rollers. The fields slope slightly, so bring your levelling blocks. Another item to remember is a torch, because lighting has been kept to a minimum. This helps visitors make the most of the sky at night.
A family-run site ideally situated for exploring the St David’s Peninsula and the west coast of Pembrokeshire, this park has direct access to Caerfai Bay, with its fine sandy beach, safe bathing and excellent rock pools. The long Pembrokeshire Coast footpath runs past the site entrance, and Caer Bwdy Bay is a few minutes’ walk to the east. The site is also a short distance from the tiny cathedral city of St David’s. But you don’t have to go that far to go shopping for the basics; there’s a small farm shop just across the lane.
The site holds a David Bellamy award for conservation, and is open until the middle of November for tourers. From 17 July to 4 September it accepts only week-long bookings starting and ending on a Saturday.
