Just returned today from this park. the accommodation is excellant and the site is clean. Sadly there was no water in the pool and in the games room the pool table was out of order. We were not able to use the family room that is advertised as it had "just been cleaned". We were not able to have hot chocalate in the restaurant at 9pm as the machine had just been cleaned. the bar shuts at 11pm prompt. If you are looking for a very quiet site where the staff keep their distance this site is grea. If you have teenagers and are looking for a fun holiday then this is not the place to go>
: April in 2012Stayed at Cofton for four nights in our family tent. Apart from the weather (rain!) we had a great time. The site is well laid out, great for kids as it has 3 play areas and the large outdoor pool. The shower blocks and toilets for kept clean and there were plenty of sinks for washing up for the tourers. The pitches are well spaced out so ample room for whatever size tent you have
: August in 2011“Lovely Views, Hilly, Excellent Location, Very Clean, Definately a 4 Star Campsite, but should be a 5. :)”
Hi to all who read this.
We camped at Cofton from the 7th to the 21st of August. When we originally booked we asked if we could all be together as I was going with my family & we would have 3 tents in total, they said they couldn't guarantee that as it was allocation on arrival, but if we were all booking at the same time then there be more chance that we could all be together, thankfully we were together which was nice. We were camped near the toilet/shower/launderette block which I must say were absolutely clean, although sometimes the toilets would leak water, but that was cleaned up by staff pretty much straight away. I personally ALWAYS ALWAYS shower with my crocs on NO MATTER where I am, but if your not that bothered then showering with nothing on your feet would be fine as the showers had mats on the floor & were cleaned every single day usually in the afternoon as it was just too busy in the morning for the cleaners to do their job. The Launderette was excellent & you don't even need to take washing powder as it's already installed in the machine. It costs £4 a wash which takes 45 mins & 20p per dryer which last about 10 mins. There are also irons in the launderette although I don't know how much they were I didn't use them. The site is absolutely massive & extremely well kept. The pool area is spotlessly clean & is cleaned every morning before they open it at 10am. Our kids grew fins & webbed feet at they were in that much !!!! If you have problems with walking then this site might not suit you unless you are placed on a bottom field, then you'll be ok. The food at the on-site restaurant is very good indeed we ate there quite often & the prices are very reasonable too. The on-site shop has got everything you need & more, from daily newspapers to freshly baked crossiants, fresh milk to tent pegs & this too is very reasonably priced as camp shops go. Some of the bar staff are miserable. The family room above the bar is very small & very hot !!! There is also an on-site chippy which although is a little bit on the dear side it is very good food. Also near the chippy there is an arcade & another launderette with more washers & dryers than the one which we were near. The play area's for the kids are very good, but are NOT lit up at night. You are only 10 mins away from Dawlish Warren which is nice, 15 mins to Dawlish Town Ctr. Cofton is located in a really good spot. If there was anything negative to say about our stay, it would be the following :- Although they have security on site they are only there until about 11pm & if you have problems with noisy people like we did on 2 occasions we should have been able to ring them or go & see them to ask them to sort it out, but as they weren't there we had to sort it out ourselves, Cofton should allow for big parties who want to camp together as that is what camping's all about "all being together", Cofton should allow you to use a gazebo in Peak times as you have paid for that pitch. Overall we had a great time & I would rate it at 7/10. Hope you find my information useful I have tried to pack as much as possible in my review as I could possibly remember, but please feel free to ask me any questions by email if you need to know anything else that I haven't mentioned.
Hope you have a lovely time either camping, touring, cottage or staying in a static.
ENJOY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you for your feedback. Unfortunatley our pitches are not numbered and to be flexible with people booking on etc we allocate pitches on arrival. Although we can't guarantee pitches together we do what we can to meet customers needs.
Toilets and showers are generally cleaned twice a day - once very early in the morning usually before most campers are up and again later in the day after the morning rush.
Our current bar area is being extended for later in 2012 and we hope to have a bigger family lounge area with more on offer.
We have security on site until at least 2am during our peak season - they are contactable from the bar whilst it is open plus their mobile number is displayed on the Reception door.
A warm welcome with lots of information and a choice of pitches. First holiday in motorhome and site exceeded expectations. Shower blocks clean with shelving to stow dry stuff in your locked cubicle and drip mats. There is even music in the shower and loos which made everything less clinical as shared facilities. Washing up facilities, spotless. Well stocked shop, very friendly and helpful staff. Two lovely play areas (we travelled with 5 year old) Great fish & chip shop with lovely freshly cooked food. Lovely views and everyone staying there seemed to respect the site standard and 'behave'. Regular bus service nearby with access to Dawlish and Teignmouth. Could not commend this site enough at the time, but since had horrible experience at another site, so felt compelled to praise the site, staff and facilities :)

Thank you for your positive comments and we will be sure to pass your praise onto all our staff.
Arrived at Cofton and were greeted by very friendly staff, we were offered a choice of pitches. Our chosen pitch was level and of a good size. The shower and toilet facilities were always very clean and of a high standard with nice free hot showers. Also on site there is a large open air swimming pool, a bar and restaurant with entertainment, a fish and chip shop which we sampled one evening. Around the site are some nice woodland walks, its a two mile walk through the woods to Dawlish Warren. You can also walk to Cockwood harbour and enjoy a pint in The Anchor or The Ship. We thouroughly enjoyed our stay at Cofton and would recommend this site, especially so for families.
: July in 2011I found Cofton Country Holidays to be very clean with excellent walks, easy access to the beach, Dawlish and Dawlish Warren and also Torbay. It also has a excellent swimming pool, shop and great entertainment. The toilets showers are clean and plentiful. I have been going there for several years with my children when they were younger and also my grandchildren.
: August in 2009The park is very busy and the staff are friendly and helpful there is fishing so make sure you have a fishing licence there is a swimming pool which caters for small children to adults there are plenty of ablutions and areasonable shop to buy food and toys and accessories also make sure you take your wellies in case it rains if you go in August there is a fire work display which is well worth watching.
Cofton Country Holidays, Dawlish, Devon
We stayed here last week - end of May - during the horrendous Devon weather but the park was clean and very well looked after. Very pleasant staff with excellent facilities - well stocked and reasonably priced shop etc. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! We shall definitely holiday here again.
We stayed on the park over the Easter holidays. It was our first experience of camping with a family and we had a fantastic time. There is plenty of open space for the children to run around safely. My son enjoyed visitng the donkeys and pony everyday. We ate in the bar a couple of evenings as they had an early happy hour and the food was great. We look forward to returning in the summer so we can make use of the Swimming Pool.
I Stayed at Cofton last year (2005) and i won't ever go back again, the staff are rude and they don't invest any money in the customers. The entertainment was extremely boring and everything is extremely expensive. I recommend not staying here!!!
response (28 Apr 2008)
We disagree with this and take pride in our customer service skills. If at any time a customer is unhappy with the service they receive then it will be dealt with if its bought to our attention at the time.
We do not run an entertainments package as that is not what we are about but do have light entertainment in our Swan Pub on some evenings during busy periods.

This 30-acre site is set in a secluded valley near Dawlish on the south Devon coast. A two-mile sandy beach, which has been awarded a blue flag,
is just minutes away and you can also enjoy boating, sailing and canoeing nearby. However, for a walk among rolling meadows, woodlands and open parkland, you won’t even need to leave the site. Most of the pitches have access to electric hook-up and water points. Washroom and laundry facilities are provided and the site also has fishing lakes, two heated outdoor pools, a play area, a games room and a restaurant.

Well kept, with ample facilities for the family, Cofton Park is a great spot for exploring the sights of Devon. The cathedral city of Exeter is just a short hop away, and Exmoor and Dartmoor are within easy driving distance. A 45-minute walk through the woods will also take you to Dawlish Warren – a Blue Flag sandy beach with safe swimming, amusement arcades, fairground rides and beach shops.
Those who want to explore further can embark on a woodland walk with views of the Exe Valley. This is popular with dog walkers and ramblers, and there are limitless routes to choose from. But if you don’t fancy exploring, the site has many activities. There is a palm tree-encircled swimming pool with slides and ample sunbathing areas. There are also fishing lakes stocked with carp, rudd and bream.
Children are well catered-for, and the site is nicely positioned off the main road so they can play safely. In fact, couples may feel a little overrun by young campers in peak season. Despite this, there’s plenty of room to get some space. The pitches are large and terraced, and offer great views of the rolling Devon countryside. Some are even set within an apple orchard.
The main facilities block is also clean with plenty of showering areas, and in high season further toilet blocks are made available.
