Newtown Cove Caravan and Camping Park

Newtown Cove Caravan and Camping Park is a quiet, award winning, family run holiday park in the heart of Waterford, in the 'sunny south east' corner of the island of Ireland.

This campsite welcomes motorhomes, touring caravans and tents, with 10A electric hook-ups, hardstanding pitches and all weather pitches available.

Facilities at this campsite in Ireland include a toilet, shower and bathing block, a dishwashing area and a laundrette with washing, drying and ironing facilities. An on-site shop is open in the months of July and August, and stocks sweets, everyday groceries and camping essentials – there are three, big supermarkets within just a few miles of this site, so if you need anything else, you've not far to go. In addition, the campsite's reception doubles as a tourist information centre so guests can plan their days out in the surrounding area while on site.

Newtown Cove Caravan and Camping Park also has a children’s play area, Wi-Fi, a TV room, a games room, a camper’s kitchen and a camper’s lounge, plus there's a motorhome service point. This is also a dog friendly campsite. Dogs must be kept on their leads all the time and their owners must remember to clean up after them. The campsite also operates a no noise policy, to ensure that everyone staying on site can enjoy a good night's sleep on their camping and caravan holidays.

If you fancy a night off from cooking while on tour, Rocketts, a pub and restaurant, is only about 500 metres from Newtown Cove Caravan and Camping Park. This is a lovely place for the whole family to enjoy a meal out – either eat there or get a takeaway.

One of the super things about pitching at this campsite is that you're so close to the coast. Newtown Cove, from which the holiday park takes its name, is only about 400 metres from the site, a pretty cove with high cliffs. Access to the water is easy via swimming platforms and steps. Why not take a picnic on the stony beach and enjoy memorable views across the bay. Or go diving or fishing.

If you love the great outdoors, you'll be well catered for here, the countryside just waiting for you to explore it. Enjoy woodland walks, cycling, mountain biking, horse riding or even geo-caching. We've mentioned fishing and diving, but close to this site you could also spend time swimming, sailing, kayaking or windsurfing. There are plenty of nearby golf courses, too.

A Waterford City Walking Tour is an interesting day out for all the family, and is definitely worth doing a short time after arriving in the area, offering a great opportunity to discover the places to head to during your stay, so you can plan your holiday. Waterford Crystal Visitor Centre also offers tours of the factory and has a visitor centre.

Other must-see attractions in the local area include The Copper Coast Geopark, The Waterford and Suir Valley Railway, and the Waterford Treasures, while Hook Lighthouse is one of the few examples of a nearly intact medieval lighthouse anywhere in Europe.
