Riverside Caravan Park in High Bentham is one of the best family holiday parks in North Yorkshire with holiday homes for sale.

Ideally situated close to the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the Yorkshire Dales National Park, Riverside Caravan Park has been rated as a five-star park by both Enjoy England and the AA. It's an ideal base if you want to visit the Dales or the Lakes.

The park has pitches for guests with touring caravans, motorhomes and folding campers, while holiday cottages are available for hire, with static holiday homes that are permanently owned also found at the park. Those interested in becoming holiday home owners at Riverside Caravan Park should enquire directly with the park owners.

The site is open from March 1st until January 2nd for holiday home owners and touring.

The touring area has 61 pitches, all of which offering grassy areas and excellent drainage. Of these, 34 are all grass with electric and TV hook-ups, 15 are hardstanding with electric and TV, while the remaining 12 are fully serviced, with water and drainage hook-ups in addition to electric and TV hook-ups. All pitches also provide complimentary Wi-Fi to guests.

In addition to these 61 pitches, there are another 50 fully serviced hardstanding pitches offered on a seasonal basis. Guests that book for consecutive seasons can leave their touring caravan or motorhome at the site over the winter, free of charge.

Facilities available at Riverside Caravan Park include toilet and shower blocks with disabled access, a laundrette, a washing up room and a chemical waste disposal point. Gas sales are available from the park's reception.

There is a children’s adventure playground found on-site for running off any remaining energy reserves. This is also a dog friendly park, but owners are asked to control their pets at all times and to clean up after them.

The site is ideally situated for enjoying a wide variety of activities. Many guests choose to stay at the park to enjoy the site’s private fishing lake, while the park also has many metres of frontage onto the River Wenning. High Bentham boasts an 18-hole golf course, while many other great public courses are found in the surrounding region.

Also in Bentham you'll find a small supermarket, pubs and a post office. There's a station, too, which is about a 10-minute walk from this park, so if you'd like to leave your car or motorhome on site and head out and about, you have that option.

As Riverside Caravan Park is nestled in between the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the Yorkshire Dales National Park, with the Lake District National Park within striking distance too, it's a super place to stay if you'd like to take on the great outdoors and appreciate the stunning natural beauty of this region. Whether walking, cycling, mountain biking, rock climbing, sailing, pony trekking or kayaking take your fancy, there are plenty of opportunities to get active when pitched at this park, on your motorhome and caravan holidays in Yorkshire.

The sheltered level setting straddling the banks of the River Wenning is truly superb, screened by trees and natural hillsides with excellent walks along the riverbank and in the surrounding countryside.

High Bentham used to be in the West Riding and is now in North Yorkshire, although the postal address is and always has been 'Lancaster', the nearest towns are in Cumbria and North Yorkshire.

High Bentham is exceptionally fortunate in the diversity of it's scenery. The River Wenning, a tributary of the Lune, meanders pleasantly from the South of Clapham alongside both High and Low Bentham and walks from Riverside Caravan Park, on either bank, through rich meadow and pastureland give a feeling of serenity and peace, so rare in these difficult, busy days.

In contrast, less than 30 minutes climb brings one to the fell gate and to 'Big Stone' with it's breathtaking views of moors and mountains, extending from Bowland to the far Lakeland hills. When the quiet evening falls, an unforgettable experience is the glorious vision of the sun setting over Morecambe Bay.
