Herons Cottage is a popular touring park and fishing location found in the heart of the Lincolnshire countryside, a short, 20-minute drive from the market town of Spalding, on the River Welland.
The park is open all through the year, and welcomes guests with touring caravans, tents and motorhomes. The site has been given a three-star rating by both Visit England and the AA, and it is a dog friendly campsite.
Static caravans for hire are available at Herons Cottage on a seasonal basis, while seasonal pitches are also offered to touring and camping guests on a summer or winter basis. Those taking out summer seasonal pitches that are planning to return to Herons Cottage the following year can also take advantage of competitively priced, secure unit storage at the site. An additional field is set aside for caravan rallies.
All the pitches at Herons Cottage benefit from electric hook-up, while all pitches also have security lighting and adjacent car parking. Additional facilities available at Herons Cottage for guests’ comfort include a modern toilet and shower block, washing up sinks and a gas exchange. In addition, 25 fishing pegs are available at Herons Cottage, with guests able to enjoy fishing from 6am until dusk. If you are staying here you can pick up a seasonal fishing permit or a single day permit from the campsite's reception.
The reception area also doubles as a tourist information point, helping guests plan their day out across Lincolnshire and beyond. Picnic benches are found across the site, including by the riverside, meaning that if the weather allows, it is easy to enjoy something to eat and drink outside.
Visit Lincolnshire and there are lots of things to do. Gentle trails ideal for walking and cycling lead out from the park in numerous directions, giving all guests the chance to enjoy the beautiful landscape.
Lincolnshire is famous for its market towns, and in addition to Spalding guests can head into Holbeach (a 10-minute drive away) and also Market Deeping (about a half hour drive away). As well as giving guests tremendous access to Lincolnshire, the site is ideally situated for anyone looking to visit Norfolk or Cambridgeshire.
Guests looking for great shopping as well as restaurants and other leisure attractions should drive into King’s Lynn, about a 40-minute drive away, while towards the coast there are several lovely places to visit, including The Wash National Nature Reserve. Peterborough, which has an impressive cathedral, is about a 30-minute drive away, too.
Or perhaps you'd like to visit Cambridge on your motorhome, camping and caravan holidays. It is about an 80-minute drive from Herons Cottage, but for many a trip to this famous university city is well worth the effort, the glorious architecture of the colleges and chapels, not to mention a punt along the River Cam, just some of the many things to do here. Cambridge is also a great shopping destination and there are a good number of cafes, pubs, bars and restaurants, too.
Pitch at Herons Cottage and enjoy a memorable break in the east of England.
