Summer holidays in Cornwall are the perfect opportunity to enjoy a range of local and traditional celebrations. Music festivals and flower festivals are very popular during this time of year and many of the county's towns host amazing carnivals or regattas.

You can also enjoy open-air performances at the Minack Theatre in Porthcurno or take in an art exhibition at the Tate Gallery in St Ives.

Newquay is just a fifteen-minute drive from the resort, and it's a mere twenty minutes by car to visit the gorgeous cathedral city of Truro.

Of course, the Eden Project is another must-visit, with two gigantic biospheres serving as home to thousands of striking exotic plant species from tropical and temperate areas - it really must be seen to be believed. And don't forget the variety of theme parks on offer for thrillseekers old and young.

Want a great camping and caravanning site in Cornwall, look no further than Newperran Holiday Park camping and caravaning. We have been holidaying at the site for over 30 years now (now twice a year) and have seen a lot of changes, including ownership. The site is easy to get to and find been only 5-10 minutes off the A30. For us that means dual carriage way all the way door to door apart from the 2 mile stretch over Bodmin moor and about 11/2 miles from Carland cross to site. Entry to the site is secured by double automatic barriers been activated by an automatic number plate recognition system. You always get a great welcome from the owners who are great and down to earth. Been away from the main roads, their is no road noise. All amenities are new having been renewed or rebuilt over the last few years. Their are 4 spotless toilet blocks and all have individual cubicles including wash basin and toilet, and plenty of free showers so no waiting. Their is a large pub on site providing most popular alcoholic drinks and beverages with entertainment from quiz nights to live entertainment to pool and slot machines. A new resteraunt has been built with plenty of tables and great food, with free Wi-Fi, and commands a 5* hygiene rating certificate. The newly built washateria is spotless and well equipped with automatic washing machines that has its own washing powder, dryers and irons. Their is a newly built games room to keep the children occupied as well as an outdoor play area with climbing frames etc. The swimming pool has been completely rebuilt and made indoor with an outdoor lounging patio area. It has it's own changing rooms and showers and is the best pool I have ever seen on any site we have been to. Ok, their are rules on this site, (but no more than other sites) and they are enforced, but this only adds to the peaceful tranquility and enjoyment of the site. No point in having rules if the are not enforced, and you know what they are before you go. This is a great site with over 100 pitches, most with perimeter pitching in large fields providing a large open expanse in the Centre of the field, and most pitches with electric and a lot with water/drainage. The site is ideally situated to get to anywhere in Cornwall, been 5/10 minutes from Peranporth and 10/15 minutes from Newquay. I would have no hesitation in recommending this site to anyone, young/old, family or retired.

We stayed here two years ago and although the weather was poor we felt the site was in a good position and had all the basics that we needed. We were on 'idless' pitch 23 and it wasn't a very good pitch - too small and too many people walking past to the dog walking area.
This year we chose to stay on Kea and it was great with really good size pitches. It was very quiet this year and there were many empty pitches (the bad weather must have affected bookings) which was a bonus for us.
We had been a bit bothered by all of the rules and regulations given to us the first time but the owners seem reasonable and friendly enough. We never had any bother and we were two families with children of varying ages.
The site has a new restaurant, games room and launderette. The restaurant is a bit pricey but does a good breakfast.
The onsite pub is fine as a meeting point and does a weekly quiz and nightly entertainment of a reasonable standard.
The pool is cold but is spotlessly clean and is fine for a quick splash around. The wash rooms aren't brilliant but they are cleaned regularly and because the site was quiet there wasn't any need to queue for a shower regardless of the time - not sure what it would be like if all pitches were in use!
The chemical disposal area is poor and is the one area that I think they could improve on.
You can walk into Perranporth from the site. It takes about 40mins and it is an interesting walk, across quite rough terrain, through a village and over the golf course (almost all downhill). There is a bus that runs back from Perranporth to the crossroads about half a mile from the site.
We would be happy to return here.

A long list of Park Rules, a sandwich board outside reception warning of some undisclosed "unfortunate incidents" regarding visitors and a verbal introductory warning that the Park has 30 CCTV cameras, should have put us off but we gave the it the benefit of the doubt, and warned our young children to behave themselves or we'd get evicted.
The Park is in a good position for touring , the un-manned pool was too cold for our children and the the staff frightened our children to such an extent that they were frightened to explore much past the awning.
The £5 charge for the launderette was extortionate and I wasn' t prepared to pay it considering the size of the machines and, although the shop staff were friendly; the stock was limited and we made the couple of miles journey to Morrisons and Lidl.
I know it rains during the English summer but no attempt seems to have been made to regulate the mud and access to Bude field was hazardous to driver and any pedestrians. For a top price site this was not acceptable.
The resident band were apparently ill during our stay and unless you have kids with large pockets of coins for the slot machines then there is little to entertain them. The machines took a pound a game except the shooting game which was broken whilst we were there, and swallowed your money. No-one was available to refund our pounds and the kids quickly became bored. The music in the Inn was dour and the drinks were on the expensive side.
Sadly, we will not be revising this site again.
